The Top 5 worst roads, bridges and tunnels in Canada, with poll (Autoblog Canada)

Oct 4th 2011 5:10PM If this was Bahamas I'd say the Long Island Expressway. A dirt road that goes the length of the island that has 3' deep potholes.

The Top 5 worst roads, bridges and tunnels in Canada, with poll (Autoblog Canada)

Oct 4th 2011 5:04PM Most of these bridges have outlived their fifty year lifespan. No bridge is ever designed to last longer than that purely because the nature of travel can't be reasonably predicted past that.

Another Crashed Witnessed (Autoblog Canada)

May 30th 2011 4:24AM Admittedly Ontario could use better education for drivers but frankly how does anyone propose to teach someone to drive in snow when there's only snow for four months? The graduated licensing is supposed to cover that by way of forcing the driver to gain experience over an 18 month period. And yes we have graduated licensing plus mandatory testing for people over a certain age. In addition, talking on a cell phone in Ontario is a crime. Considering that the entire thing got recorded the driver will likely lose his license due to the number of infractions and possibly even lose his car.

Ultimately what occurred can and does happen everywhere. I feel what we need is better viewability in cars (such as the ones from the early '90s) and less expectation that technology will bail us out. Although this video involved a car that doesn't apply to either.

GM workers suing company, union over pay (Autoblog Canada)

May 9th 2011 7:53PM I don't see how the UAW could be at fault. They don't do anything in the first place except make the factories they're in expensive to run. It's not like there isn't laws in place that cover those who aren't in unions and they do just as good a job at protecting you. Although to be honest that's not much.

Video: EVO pits Audi RS3 vs. Subaru WRX STI Spec C vs. Ford Focus RS vs... Ferrari Enzo?! (Autoblog)

Apr 15th 2011 11:54PM "Hey guys! Someone over at Ferrari gave us this Enzo to play with! What should we do with it?"

"Something that won't piss them off and stop them from loaning us any other cars."

"Well, I guess we could throw it at three cars that are well below par compared to it."

Opinion: Time to raise the speed limit, how does 150 MPH sound? (Autoblog)

Apr 11th 2011 10:30PM While it's completely possible for a sedan to travel faster than 150mph there's a good reason why they don't. What our illustrious author has failed to note is that it's not economical.

Those german vehicles contain large engines that are not fuel efficient compared to smaller engines. The same rule still applies as it was first noted by North Americans in the '70's. Smaller and lighter is more efficient and while safety equipment hasn't improved weight. We can't say the same thing about engines. They have progressively gotten smaller while still putting out the same power and this reduction in size has been the primary reason for improved fuel economy.

In fact, engine design has moved forward rather well with the only thing holding it back being a lack of necessary improved fuel economy in comparison to the '70's. As a result engines have retained the same economy while getting more powerful.

It is not speed and the limitation of it that's held back automotive design but fuel economy which has done nothing to hold back the improvement of the automotive industry. Increasing the speed limit will not help the economy, automobiles, or anything else.

Top Gear presents its side of story about Tesla Roadster [w/video] (Autoblog)

Apr 4th 2011 5:27PM Obviously you missed that day in grade six where they told you that batteries lose charge in cold weather. It's either that or you missed the day in grade eight where they taught you that England is a damn load colder than South Carolina.

Mar 15th 2011 4:21AM Meme's are not exactly the greatest thing on the planet. In fact if I had to rate them against everything else the internet has given us I'd rate them on the side of bad ideas. Sure they entertain us for a few moments but then they just get in the way of real humor and what not.

In all honesty, I'm not afraid if people know what's listed about me on the net. It doesn't define me and doesn't give anyone nearly half of the story about me. All anonymity does is give people the chance to shirk responsibility and if you want to be free then you need to act properly and let others be as well.

PETA recommends solving your Mazda's spider problems by... donating your car (Autoblog)

Mar 8th 2011 8:28PM I'm sure they're only doing this because they need a new fleet of vehicles.

I sent them an email recommending that they start using my new fleet of donkeys but they replied that it was preferable to kill a thousand animals that they'll never met via oil mining then enslave a donkey. I tried to inform them that they'd be gainfully employing someone who needs a job to pay the bills but for some reason they think that donkeys don't have families.

The shame of them. The shame!
