After 37 Years, 'Neighbors From Hell' May Finally Face Eviction (AOL Real Estate)

Former Miss Venezuela Eva Ekvall, 28, loses battle with breast cancer (Celestrellas)
Dec 19th 2011 4:58PM I watched my mother waste away for two years as her breast cancer spread to her bones and finally to her lungs! She was trying to cry but no sound came out because she didn't have enough breath to make any! She had prepared so many delicious meals for us over the years and decorated the house each holiday, making sure all of us got a present at Christmas, never giving money until she hadn't the strength to shop anymore! All of the life literally drained away from the house when she passed, and yes it was a house and no longer a home!
Tennessee Home Burns as Firefighters Watch (AOL Real Estate)
Dec 7th 2011 11:53AM I've got a better idea! How about we pay firefighters only when they are actually fighting a fire! They can punch in when they leave the firehouse and punch out when they return! These communities are rediculous, charging fees for services that had previously been paid for through property taxes!
The New Homeless: Living Behind the Wheel (AOL Real Estate)
Dec 1st 2011 6:17PM Our fair city of Scranton is about to become a "Ford City". County Real Estate taxes are about to go up 39%, with City Taxes due to rise 29%! That in itself will drive hundreds from their homes and into their cars! The Scranton Housing Authority has also ceased taking applications for low income housing, ending section 8 rental assistance as well! The "Perfect Storm". Guess who is causing this mess? Our "No Tax Increase Pledge" Republican Governor, that's who! That's the only thing that "Trickle's Down" from that party! Pushing the tax increases down to the cities is their strategy for keeping their stupid pledge!
Photo Gallery: Abandoned Americana (Gadling)
Oct 22nd 2011 7:48PM Better start taking pictures of Scranton, Pa. Our town will be dead in a year, slain by the greed of our Public Safety Unions!

Jun 8th 2011 10:08AM In killing another human being, one has to rationalize it! Is he human or just a pile of malignant cells? Is he man or animal, an abbhoration that never did aquire human status?
Santa Monica Latest City to Fight to Get Circumcision Ban on Ballot (ParentDish)
Jun 6th 2011 7:33PM Both my brothers were circumsized and I wasn't! As a result, I had to undergo a painful and complicated one at the age of 63. My foreskin had almost completely grown over the head of my penis. I had been unable to properly clean myself for years before that and ultimately suffered an infection! But, back to the proceedure.By the time I had gotten home from the surgery clinic, my shorts were soaked with blood. An improperly cauterized vein had burst. It finally stopped but in the process developed a large clot that had to be squeezed out from beneath the skin. Talk about pain! Do you want your sons to experience this. I think not!
The Dania Beach Hurricane may be demolished (Gadling)
May 23rd 2011 4:57PM The most breathtaking coaster ride I ever experienced was the "Blue Streak" at Ceder Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio! At the time, it's 78 foot drop literally pinned you to the safety bar! my brothers and I spent an entire day there back in the 60's!
The Dania Beach Hurricane may be demolished (Gadling)
May 23rd 2011 4:42PM The wooden coaster I missed the most was "The Million Dollar Coaster" at Rocky Glen Park in Moosic, Pa. I rode it many times as a kid back in the 50's! Sadly, Rocky Glen Park closed in the 80's, it's Million Dollar Coaster preceeding it in death by a decade! The former park is now unrecognizable, completely overgrown with weeds, the site's only reminder being a faded sign at the entrance!
Roy Orbison's Widow Recalls His Love of Music, Style and Film on His 75th Birthday (Spinner)
Apr 23rd 2011 10:04AM Of the many Roy Orbison songs that have made a lasting impression on myself as well as millions, none has been more hauntingly beautiful than his first after the tragic untimely death of Claudette....."Ride Away" One could literally feel the sorrow, but yet the reconciliating in his voice, so poignent that it stabs at your heart!
