The Web's Biggest Scams: From 419 to the Hitman (Switched)
Jan 25th 2011 8:47AM @xtremebttm31 LOL, I have won countless pounds from England. If I will just get in touch with them. I feel like they get my email from when I make comments like this. Every time I make a comment on an article I get boat loads of emails saying I won a drawing. It's a random drawing of emails or some drawing I'm supposed to have forgotten I entered or some nonsense. I laugh and move on, but I wonder how many folks fall for this junk. I recently watched an intervention show where a guy was constantly online and on the phone long distance trying to get his winnings and paying out the wazoo for fees and taxes on said winnings. He kept telling his family I don't know what I won, but I won something. He lost his house is what he did. I don't answer any emails from anyone I don't know. I never open attachments. But even opening attachments from friends can mess you up........
Younger Baby Boomers Hurt Most by Recession (AOL Jobs)
Jan 21st 2011 8:34AM In the Netherlands all health care is free to all people reguardless of income. If you lose your job you collect 80% of your salary automatically until you find another job. You collect for as long as it takes. They are more free than we are because they don't have these worries. Everyone receives child care money for up to two kids. If you have the third you are on your own with that one reguardless of income....or no income. Nobody has to worry about any health care or if they can eat and pay bills when they are without a job. Why can't we do that? I thought we were the greatest on Earth and we could do anything. But we run all over taking care of the world while we suffer ourselves. I guess we will have to keep changing the guys who make the decisions until someone goes up there and gets it right.
30-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage: Will We Become a Rental Nation? (Housingwatch)
Sep 15th 2010 8:39AM I just left my mortgaged home. Yes, the upkeep got out of hand. After having put in a new air/heating system and putting in new tile and painting and getting new appliances for the home, we were 29 days late on the mortgage for several months. When we got the letter that they would forclose because of the less than 30 days late situation going on for months, we left the house! I'm renting now. Guess what? If the plumbing has a problem, we call the landlord. If there is any problem, we call the landlord. Now we have no overhead such as taxes on the property or repairs. Now we will be able to actually afford to eat and cloth ouselves! Ain't that grand? I think it's wonderful! If we ever buy again it will be through an owner selling a property as a rent to own. And I never ever will purchase a home on a slab. The last two had plumbing issues under the slab and when you flood sewage from the laundry room, it isn't pretty. And it isn't cheap either! I'm done with home owning right now. The last loan? Two year fixed and then adjustable. The whole country's going to hell in a handbasket.
Are You a Facebook Narcissist? (Lemondrop)
Sep 3rd 2010 8:44AM Racine's funny! Yes, dear, you are the exact definition. I have one pic of me. I have a lot of my dolls because I hook up with collectors like myself on fb. I keep up with my kids who scattered hither and yon. I actually had a fb friend I knew in person who posted the consistancy and regularity of his stools which was a bit much. I love it when folks who never met in person, will never meet in person, and have weird issues "date" on there! LMAO!

Shoplifters on 'Terrible' Dr. Phil Show Head to Prison (PopEater)
Mar 23rd 2010 2:41PM Do you WATCH the show? I do from time to time. He pretty much lets everyone have the sharp side of his tongue if they are wrong. Oh, and he has been renewed for what, four more years? Now, I, too, have had a poor opinion of Dr. Phil from time to time, but I have recently caught a couple of shows and he was nothing nice to some females who quite deserved it. And he's probably pretty much as much help as any psychologist or psychiatrist. If people are unwilling to help themselves and only want some attention, a magic bullet, or someone to tell them they are right no matter what they are doing, no one can help them. No one.

Bake Sales: Let Them Eat Junk! (ParentDish)
Mar 3rd 2010 8:41AM I'm in Mississippi. With all the budget cuts we don't have paper to print copies on for student's work and tests! Our money has been frozen.....I mean, you want your child to have toilet paper, right? So we sell snacks here and put the money back into our school. And funny, there aren't enough problems with childhood obesity in my building for me to be concerned because our children are ACTIVE. We have PE every day and they have a recess, too. They don't sit all day and then go home and sit all evening.
Is Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" Plan Enough? (That's Fit)
Feb 24th 2010 8:33AM Well, I sit here in Mississippi as I write this in my classroom before my students arrive and I'm not seeing a lot of fat kids at my school. I agree there are a lot out there and even the ones who are not fat need more exercise and less tv and computer and video games. But pick on some other states. I have been elsewhere and there are fatties there, too. I agree with the author of the article.....this is a good idea, just not enough "umph" behind it yet.
