Final Cut Pro X launches, $299 in the Mac App Store (TUAW.com)

Jun 21st 2011 11:41AM RIP LiveType, DVD Studio Pro?

Reported Motion 5, Final Cut Pro X screen shots (TUAW.com)

Jun 8th 2011 9:07PM Um, I believe that $299 price is just for Final Cut Pro, not the Suite. The suite appears to be no more.... it's all a la carte. The complete silence since NAB scares the hell out of me, and every other FCP editor I talk to.

Twisted Metal trailer is more than meets the eye (Joystiq)

Jun 4th 2011 7:22PM @Clydeftones Was it just me or did the trailer make the game look like i should expect it to run at 10 fps during the action parts?

Giveaway: Two new Element carbon-fiber iPhone 4 cases (TUAW.com)

Jun 2nd 2011 12:06AM Um, so far I dropped my Verizon iPhone on carpet from about 2 feet. Guess I'm both careful and lucky.

May 31st 2011 10:44AM Yeah, I mean, good lord, look at all these people taking pictures of the Apple Store...

iPad survives 500 foot fall from airplane thanks to G-Form Extreme Sleeve (TUAW.com)

Apr 25th 2011 12:58PM That thing makes quite a thud when it hits for the screen to have not broken from the G forces alone...

PSN outage due to 'external intrusion' [update] (Joystiq)

Apr 23rd 2011 8:24PM @Barkley610 Yeah, I'm usually a fan of their dickery, but this is taking it too far. If you're pissed at a company I can see doing some DDoS type stuff, but this is affecting too many innocent people's enjoyment over their beef. Sony's probably out a few million in sales through the PSN store now, and they're not going to go lightly on this. That's probably why they're taking their sweet time trying to preserve whatever they can of this rather than risk destroying traces of evidence when rushing to get things up again.

Apple says "stay tuned" for other Final Cut Studio apps, shows The Loop screenshots (TUAW.com)

Apr 13th 2011 1:31PM Yeah, I'm leery too. Another thing I'm wondering about is spreading out across multiple monitors, since it looks like it's all one window now. Guess that's part of Apple's push to 'app' everything...

It's really too bad they didn't bother to let us see it more indepth, or better yet hands on, when they knew thousands of we users are all in Vegas right now for NAB. Wondering too about how it could affect 3rd party apps and tools too, even those that don't directly 'plugin' to FCP. Lots of interesting discussions on the Vegas monorail last night after the Supermeet got out.

Boxee to add iPad support, more in May (TUAW.com)

Mar 31st 2011 10:51AM ..."watching from your bed or some entertainment while you log miles on your treadmill"...

Skip the charade, you know 85% of the use will be on the toilet.

Android may save the day for Apple's iPad subscription policy in the EU (TUAW.com)

Feb 21st 2011 6:35PM Here's the issue. Say you download an app, and want a subscription to some feature in it. The dev isn't allowed to tell you to go to their own website to do it, and you'll be directed to do it through Apple, with them keeping over a quarter of the price for themselves. At the same time, the dev can't 'build' that into the price by offering it cheaper outside the store.

Granted I don't think it's the most ridiculous thing in the world, but it is pretty douchey to let things get this big and then make a change like this, as it's definitely jacking up some of the developer's business plans now.
