Arizona GOP Runs Doctored Cigarette Photo of President Obama (Politics Daily)
Aug 11th 2009 5:19PM I don't understand the furor. It's a picture of Obama - given. Obama smokes - given. Clearly, the assigned Whitehouse photographer would never allow a picture of the prez smoking - given. Smoking is legal - given. There are all sorts of photo-shopped pictures, particularly of the conservatives that liberals despise (like the one making fun of Palin's son) - given.
Let me ask, were you all equally insulted when the Palin's baby with Downs Syndrome was made fun of on a magazine cover, or just when it happens to your messiah? Liberals are a joke. They will use obnoxious tactics against the right to implement their plans, like community organizing against banks to encourage home loans to unqualified people, and then when their own tactics are used against them, communities organizing themselves against the healthcare bill, listen to the uproar.
Why so angry? Hysterical, absolutely hysterical. You Dems apparently never learned the golden rule, huh?
PETA Unhappy Meals Targeting Kids (Slashfood)
Aug 7th 2009 7:16PM So what we can clearly see here, is a group (PETA) who have the utmost compassion for chickens, but could give a damn about the horrific negative impact their actions will have on the psyche of a human child.
Oh yeah, I believe PETA are compassionate people......like hell I do! If they can't bring attention to the need for humane treatment of the animals we eat, without inhumane actions on our children, then you, PETA, will have no support from the American community. I mean the 'rational' American community.
Media World: CNN circles the wagons around Lou Dobbs (Daily Finance)
Aug 5th 2009 4:31PM Fred, did you miss that part of your history classes that told you A. Lincoln was NOT a Democrat? The Dems fought to hold onto slavery, so trying to insult the Conservatives (or Repubs) with the "You lost the civil war and still can't get over it?", you make a joke of yourself by displaying your ignorance of history.
I'm thinking you also missed a lot of English classes, because you used 'too' when it should be 'to'. 'To' means at or also. Too is used when comparing volumes, like too much. And yes, you are just too much.
How about learning to support FREEDOM of SPEECH? But again, I'm guessing you missed those damn irritating classes about the Constitution.
You may have the furor needed in an Obama supporter. But, you'd present a better image of that which you support if you had an educated mind.
White House Garden Is 'Completely Safe' (Politics Daily)
Aug 3rd 2009 10:08PM I think if we tied the salaries for the POTUS (and cabinet), the Senate, and the House, to a BALANCED budget, that our government might be run more for the benefit of 'We the People'. Not only should their salaries be cut when they engage in deficit spending, but each one who voted in favor of deficit spending should be denied the privilege of ever running for a subsequent term.
We have to motivate our government to be on the side of the people and the country, realizing that they are public servants. They cannot be allowed to continue this GAME of politics, at our expense. I would exclude the budget for the Armed Services from the balancing. That comes off the top, and what's left is what is balanced. Yeah, I know I'm not writing about the garden. But we REALLY DO have bigger issues. Our Republic is being frittered away. I won't stand for it.
11-Year-Old Attempts Scooter Robbery With Toy Gun (Asylum)
Aug 1st 2009 9:49PM You're right Diane. And noone can convince me that it wasn't an attempt to mimic the sorry TV shows and movies that kids are raised with. Unless, of course, his parents are criminals and actually taught this behavior to him.
C'mon, anyone want to explain where an 11 year-old got such an idea if not from TV? You know our media feeds this crap to our kids. How about a little more "Leave It To Beaver", and a little less of "Women Behind Bars".
'Burn Notice' Star Arrested for DUI (AOL Hot Searches)
Jul 21st 2009 8:47PM Chance, Linda, Angelica, and Fred Hughes.....you guys need to go back to school and LEARN the difference between a "mistake" and a conscious "choice". A mistake is when you grab the wrong credit card out of your wallet because you thought the one you wanted was on top, or you think that 3 plus 4 is 9, because you don't know any better. This guy made a CONSCIOUS CHOICE to drive under the influence, and to put the lives of everyone he encountered in jeopardy (as well as his own life). At least you guys could call this an unwise choice. But in NO WAY is it a "mistake". Are robbers simply making a "mistake"? What about murderers? No, they KNOW it's wrong but choose to do it anyway. Same thing with drunk driving. But then, that's the liberal thought process.....it's always someone else's fault, or simply a mistake. How about some personal responsibility libs!
GM pulls gay Chevy ads: Don't worry, we weren't gonna buy one anyway (WalletPop)
Jul 10th 2009 10:49PM I have to laugh at Zac's pathetically immature comments. Where in the world did the rule come from that says unless GM uses 2 gay men to advertise their Camaro, that no gays will buy it?
I had no idea that a car (an inanimate object) has anything to do with mate choices. Or is it simply an attempt at intimidation and extortion? Zac, you must feel so insignificant in your life, that you need to insert yourself as a self-proclaimed spokesperson for gays in general. That is such a self-centered attitude, that it defies description.
You may, however, choose to proclaim yourself the "Al Sharpton" of the gay community, while everyone watches and laughs. Trust me, your already low self-esteem will continue it's downward slide.
If you'd like to improve your sagging self-esteem, try doing something for "the human race", and stop letting your sexual orientation define every aspect of your life. Good grief!
Wash Post Needs an Independent Investigation into Pay-for-Play Dinners (Politics Daily)
Jul 2nd 2009 6:57PM Quoting Katharine:
"We were planning to do a series of dinners and had requested newsroom participation but with parameters such that we did not in any way compromise our integrity."
When "newsroom participation" was being offered, and a "non-confrontational" atmosphere is guaranteed, then there is absolutely no way to avoid compromising their integrity! Isn't the very purpose of a newsroom to ask questions when pieces of a puzzle don't seem to fit? Inquiring minds want to know!
For instance, how does the administration intend to pay for yet another "federally-funded program" when we are already so far in debt that it will already take several generations before we could ever get out? And that's without ANY additional spending.
I'm pretty sure that kind of question would be considered confrontational, and therefor could not be asked by the newsroom reporters at these "salon" dinners. So exactly how would a reporter be any different from an advertisor?
Come on Katie, inquiring minds want to know!!
On the other hand, if the adminstration's representatives (be they cabinet holders or congressmen) are not allowed to simply plant their sales pitch in the paper, what would motivate them to attend the dinners in the first place? Money? No, couldn't be....'cause that's illegal. Which takes us right back to the offer of non-contested advertising being presented as news. And the maintaining of WP integrity would be where?
John McCain's Campaign Staffers Unload on Sarah Palin (Politics Daily)
Jun 30th 2009 11:04PM The constant attacks on Sarah Palin tells me that she is the most formidable opponent in future elections; the Dems fear her, and are doing their best to smear and destroy Palin before her hat is even in the ring. If it weren't such a pathetic attempt at discrediting someone, I'd find it hilarious. The articles by both Knowles and Purdum are so subjective and general, that you can replace Palin's name with Obama's (changing 'her' to 'his') and a couple of other word changes, and 'voila!', you have an article trashing BO. That means there is absolutely NO substance whatsoever. I know 3 people who are willing to call Knowles and Purdum "whackjobs", if I keep them anonymous, does it validate the name-calling?
Whenever Dems lack objectivity and fact, they will always default to name-calling. I swear, Dems need to grow up and focus on objectivity, putting aside this pointless, worthless, subjectivity. Knowles a journalist? Not yet! But keep trying.
Palin Calls Photoshopped Images 'Atrocious' (Switched)
Jun 26th 2009 8:35PM The fear that the Dems have of Palin is repeatedly demonstrated with these almost daily attacks. If they didn't fear her, they would not spend so much time and effort attacking her and her family. You don't attack the irrelevent.
At the same time the Dems do this stuff, they show their disgustingly true colors, and bring themselves down, giving the rest of us an opportunity to see the hatred, vitriol and sickness that comprises the Democrat party. What kind of people find it acceptable to attack children? Those with no values.
The Dems want the label of the "compassionate party", the "tolerant party". I don't find an ounce of compassion or tolerance in the Dems. You can't claim a title that you do not demonstrate. All I can see in the Dems is a party that lacks self-control, integrity and civility. I think America has had enough of the immature Spoiled-Brat-Dems attitude.
I have moved from a registered Democrat to the conservative side. I don't want to be associated with people of such pathetically low standards as I see in the radical left.
