May 26th 2012 2:36PM It's a shame how so many foreigners invaded Egypt during WW 1 and WW2. They desecrated the pyramids and played target practice n the Sphynx. That's why the Sphynx face is so distorted! Archeologists during the 1920s and 1930s also robbed graves in the name of "science". They burned mummies to fuel their rail roads!!!! I bet there is a ton of ancient relics out there in private collections that the world will never know about!

Since it's "the internet" people no longer capitalize proper nouns or the begining of a sentence. They no longer use punctuation. Some idiots think their own way of spelling is cute or creative. I've seen grown adults write at the level of third graders! It's disgusting!

Jan 22nd 2012 1:13PM When I saw the first two minutes of that horrible "documentary" "Faces of Death" they showed some rich, Caucasian idiots at a "restaurant". At the middle of the table was a monkey, only his head exposed through a round hole at the center of the table. The diners were repeatedly striking the poor monkey on the head to knock it unconcious. They then proceeded to eat the monkeys brains (raw)! One diva broad got sick to her stomach.
Somebody told me that humans were the highest life form on the planet. I've heard how oriental people will catch sharks, cut off the fins, then dump the dying, suffering shark back in the water to expire a slow, painful death. Some cultures have no respect for animals. They do not consider the pain animals go through to provide these idiots with "aphrodisiacs", delicacies (birds nest soup, anyone?)
and everyday servings of meat.
I don't care if their culture is different from ours. There is never an excuse for permitting an animal to suffer, to satisfy a humans' carnivorous diet. I am NOT a vegetarian or "tree-hugger". I love a hamburger, steak, fried chicken, etc. BUT...I do not kill the animal myself. Even Jesus lived on a diet that included meat. Consuming meat is mentioned in the Bible. God put animals on the Earth for many reasons, and one of them is to supply mankind with protein-rich meat.
The brief two minutes (more like 35 seconds) of that movie that I saw made me cry, and I am a 61 year old man. I can't stand to see any animal suffer or in pain.
We just lost our dog a week ago, due to natural causes, but I cried for days. Again, I don't care about the differences in "culture". To torture an animal for our convenience or quality of taste is WRONG! This kind of thing is almost enough to turn me into a vegetarian! Heaven help us. We are more savage than the animals we see on "Wild Kingdom".

Nov 29th 2011 9:30PM Wow, Tony! YOU should have written the article for AOL. Your comments were more interesting than the article, and you really know what you are talking about. The last time I flew (from Florida to Michigan than back again) I was watching the flight attendants work. I flew Delta, and I was pretty pleased with the service. Everyone was very professional and pleasant. (Lots of mandatory smiles)...
I know I sure don't have what it takes to live that challenging lifestyle. Next time I fly, I will acknowledge the flight attendants even more than I did in July. It takes a special person to be a flight attendant. Now I know why the first flight attendants were nurses. It's the same kind of work! - gregg in Sarasota, FL

Jul 16th 2011 7:43PM Back in the early 1950's, when I was a kid, we loved to be outside. I come from a large family, so there were always lots of brothers, sisters, cousins, neighbors and friends to play with. We had a small forest near the house, and we used to love to go "exploring". I was always bringing home bugs, rocks and dead things. We loved to play hide and seek and flashlight tag after dark. In the 1960's my family moved from the suburbs to Detroit. Right in the dirty city, but back then it was safe. My parents let us play flashlight tag till 10pm on weekends, but we had to come in the house when the porch light went on.
As an adult, when visiting friends, I notice the kids want to stay in the house. They want to hang around the adults, listen to us talk, I guess they are afraid they are going to miss something interesting if they don't. This puts a damper on our conversations. When I was a kid, when we went to a relative or friends' house, as soon as the family arrived, us kids immediately went outside, and as far away from the adults as we could get. We came in only when it was time to eat or it got too late to be outside. Back in the early 1960's, it was still safe to play outdoors, even at night, in the city of Detroit. That was before the notorious racial riots of 1967. Now, it is not safe to walk the streets of Detroit even in broad daylight. I don't call this progress! We are definitely not in an age of enlightenment! Today, kids know far too much about sex and violence. They have to be cynical and can not even trust adults any more. We loved Halloween and Christmas. The adults are trying to take those two beloved holidays away from them. No more Baby Jesus, no more chocolate milk, pizza or fries. I feel sorry for the kids today. We didn't have computers and video games to play with, but we sure had a lot more fun. The kids today are missing so much, even with the abundance of toys, gadgets and electronics available, so many kids are still alone. I'm glad and grateful that I was born in 1950 instead of the year 2000. At least I had a fun childhood, grew up naive and full of wonder and curiosity (the good kind). We didn't know or care about sex, drugs and violence. Too bad we can't turn back the clocks and go backwards, despite all of the "progress" we have made. Too bad for the kids today.
