Wild Ride (MyDaily)
Jun 14th 2010 5:05PM It is quite possible that she did try turning the car off and that it did not work. I'm not saying that she even tried this, but I have had that happen to me on a tractor before. I had finished mowing the lawn, couldn't shift the gears to neutral, taken the key out of the ignition, and pulled the emergency stop lever which is supposed to kill the ignition. I had to keep driving around and then try again later.
The Doggie Diaries: Are Dogs and Babies a Good Mix? (Pawnation OLD)
Apr 29th 2010 7:24PM My neighbor had multiple dogs when the youngest of her four girls was still a toddler. The worst behaved dog who always wanted to yip at your hands and play never once harmed that girl even when she had her arm halfway down the dogs throat. And this is the same girl who always had to be told to pet the animals "gently" and not hit them. Obviously supervision is required, but dogs seem to know when they are dealing with kids. And I've found that even the females who have never had litters have a motherly instinct to babies, including kittens.

Feb 4th 2009 12:02AM U mean the computers they use to record grades, take attendance, answer e-mails from parents, students, and other faculty members, and use to enhance a child's education by using sites such as youtube. I'm in college and have been in classes where professors use youtube clips in class. Computers in the classroom also enable teachers to teach students a thing or two about technology and how it works...not every student wants to take a keyboarding class. Teachers can also use power point for lectures and for students to present projects. Taking attendance by computer gets information to the office quicker so teachers can know who is absent that day and who is skipping. Just a few things to consider first.

Feb 3rd 2009 10:30PM Teachers already monitor halls between classes but during class they have to TEACH and monitor their own classroom. Those teachers who are on their planning period are not paid for that time and have other things to do anyways. I'm not sure about other schools, but ours did have a security guard. He was only one person in charge of the security of an ebitre school and he, being a male, obviously could not enter the girls bathrooms.

Feb 3rd 2009 10:19PM Yea, Brave New World was a great big. I read it in school...the place the government made me go last year "for my own good." I know that I, like every other student in America, complained about school, but I have to say I think mandatory enrollment is a beneficial thing and will not turn me into some mindless drone..;.get where I'm headed with this???
Bathroom Cameras a Good Thing, Says School (ParentDish)
Feb 3rd 2009 10:07PM This really isn't a big deal at all if done right. I just graduated from a high school last year where there would sometimes be boys in the girl's restrooms, people smoking, drug transactions, and people skipping an entire period in there. As long as the cameras aren't in the stalls themselves and the people monitoring the cameras are of the same sex as the people using the bathroom then I don't see what you should have to be embaressed about. It would be no different then when a teacher happens to come in to use the bathroom while you are in there. I've also thought it would be a good idea for cameras to be put in gym locker rooms. They could be programmed to turn on while classes are in session and there are no students present. They would only monitor areas where students keep their things and only viewed by the gym teacher of your sex who is in there while you are actually changing anyways. Any students who had to change during class could just change in the bathroom stall, which is what a lot ofgirls did anyways. Instead of parents getting so upset about this, maybe they should beupset about their children haveing to change in front of one another and sometimes in front of a faculty member (gym or dance teacher) There are people of differing sexual persausions and this can make others uncomfortable as well as lead to those who are bi or homosexual to be bullied (happened to a freind of mine). Also there, were a LOT of thefts in that locker room. I personally had my money and phone stolen and the teachers are powerless to do anything because they don't know what's going on. Cameras coulddecrease the amout of thefts, etc.
*Please forgive me any spelling errors and if that didn't flow well.I am tired and supposed to be studying for an exam....*
