HTC Sense coming to Windows Phone 7, after all (Engadget)

Jul 25th 2010 12:23AM @jordus Yes, I do own and EVO and yes, I would like to see the GB officially released...but after years of watching the wireless industry, the likelihood of it happening is minimal at best. officially at least.

Jul 25th 2010 12:18AM @Jordus That's the reality of the wireless world. They don't have to do the update to Froyo, but they are. By the time GB is released, there will be a whole new generation of hardware that HTC, Samsung, or whoever will be looking to sell. If you want GB on your EVO, my money is that you'll have to do it via custom ROM. This is, has been, and will likely always be the reality of the wireless world. If you don't like it, don't play.

Jul 24th 2010 10:44PM @saposmak Why the blanket dismissal on something we have next to zero information about as of yet? Perhaps once we actually start seeing the actual product in use, then it can be blindly dismissed.

Jul 24th 2010 10:29PM @Jordus You'll get Froyo, but not you're not likely going to see GB on the EVO...at least not an official release by HTC.

Jul 24th 2010 10:27PM Good god, a bunch of chicken littles. They said AUGMENT, not REPLACE. They will add some of their own functionality, extending what WP7 already does, not replace what's there. Personally, don't have a problem with added functionality so long as it's relatively light on resources.

TiVo's 3Q results reveal Virgin Media UI deal, new remotes on the way -- but no new boxes (Engadget HD)

Nov 29th 2009 4:26PM @(Unverified) As the same rumors have been floating around for a couple years now I would classify it as vaporware :)

Nov 29th 2009 4:24PM @(Unverified) All the above in addition to rebuilding the UI to take advantage of HD screens.

Nov 29th 2009 4:22PM While I have a TivoHD and do enjoy it, I have to say I'm rather disappointed with the product. The hardware is overpriced for what you get. The monthly subscription fee is way too high, yet offers little in return. The UI is archaic at best. While it's nice they offer regular software updates, they don't tackle the easy low lying fruit.

Why can't I see what's recording in the program guide? Tivo's been around for how long and they still don't do this? My old ReplayTV had this feature.

With the UI they've had forever, why are they only NOW getting around to developing some sort of wireless keyboard interface?

How about more modern hardware? Larger drives, maybe even hot swappable expansion, utilize more advance compression to store more on the drives, tru2way, built in wifi, etc.

On a more basic level, a more up to date and ACCURATE program guide would be nice.
