Are Apple's iAds in trouble? (TUAW.com)
Feb 10th 2011 11:27PM Using iAds is sooooo easy for developers. It's literally a simple drag and drop operation and they work. You don't even have to write a single line of code. Combine that with the quality of the ads (I've found myself clicking them just to see the cool crap that you can do with HTML5) and I think that in the long term they'll definitely succeed.
Mac App Store by the numbers -- almost 1,000 apps on Day One (TUAW.com)
Jan 6th 2011 2:26PM I'm really surprised that there's only 1000. I thought indie developers would be dying to get there apps in here. The amount of exposure you get is absolutely HUGE. I submitted 2 apps on the last day you could submit them and both of them are in there now. One of my apps is just a simple client for a webapp I work on and so far the number of users has more than doubled in just a few hours.
The iBookstore six months after launch: One big failure (TUAW.com)
Oct 14th 2010 9:14AM I don't buy iBooks because Kindle came first. I used the kindle app on my iPhone before iBooks existed, then when the iPad and iBooks came out I continued to use the Kindle app on my iPad because iBooks didn't have an iPhone app. Then, the one time I tried to buy a book on iBooks they didn't have it. So why use iBooks? I can read my kindle books on my iPhone, iPad, computer, and my girlfriends Kindle. Depending on where I am/what I'm doing this is a HUGE feature. I can only read iBooks on my iPhone and iPad, and for a long time even that wasn't possible.
The only advantage iBooks has (to me) is it's page turn animations are a little bit smoother than the Kindles and overall the app is a little bit prettier.
Android Outsells iPhone, BlackBerry Among New Phone Buyers (Switched)
Oct 6th 2010 1:03PM This isn't news. Of course an OS that ships on dozens (hundreds?) of phones is going to beat out an OS that ships on 2 (and lets be real, nobody buys the 3gs right now so its probably just 1)

Twitter changes from 140 to 120 characters (sort of), and launches a URL shortener (Download Squad)
Jun 10th 2010 12:30PM I frequently use a text message to tweet from my iPhone. Its almost always faster to send a text than it is to load up a whole twitter client.
Text messages only support 160 characters. So thats tweet + username.

Mar 17th 2010 4:57PM I would expect them to use twt.tr instead.

Feb 10th 2010 9:56AM you really can't tell the difference between burger king and mcdonalds burgers? Just because neither is a great burger doesn't mean they don't taste the same.
