After Anti-Gay Cartoon, How Will Notre Dame Respond to Outcry? (Politics Daily)

Feb 16th 2010 1:31PM Insinuated/depicted violence, anti-gay messages, hell, even ANY political/editorial cartoon, these are ALL covered under free speech. Whether you agree with the content or not, as soon as we start taking away the freedom to print it, it's a downward spiral that I want no part of. Try looking up incrementalism before you purge your ignorance here. Keep spouting off at the mouth when anything offends you, and soon everything will offend you, and there will be NOTHING you can do about it.

Despite Hasty Exit, Peyton Manning Still Class Act (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Feb 10th 2010 10:00AM agreed deb, besides, one (semi)infraction of class in his ENTIRE career and people want him drawn and quartered. If I just lost, and a stage was being set up for the opposing team's celebration, I'd walk off too.

Dana White: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brock Lesnar Will Happen Eventually (MMA Fighting)

Jul 13th 2009 1:20AM “In war, resolution; in defeat, defiance; in victory, magnanimity” -Churchill

"pettyplumber said...

brok has no respect.and dana shouldn't let him disrespect fighters and fans"

Sportsmanship? Respect? Wow. We're talking about a sport that nothing more than an organized street fight, where each fighter understands that his last act on earth could be taking a punch wrong or getting kicked too hard. Last street fight I was in the only respect the loser got was his friends dragged him out of the bar before I could kick him in the face again.

"pettyplumber said...

but when the figth is over there is a thing called sportsmanship and brok has none ali did"

Ali boxed, Brock is a cage fighter. Lets REALLY keep the sport real: The loser of the fight is lucky to be alive, that's his respect. As far as fan respect, you pay to see the fights, not have the fighters be pleasant to you. Brock does exactly what I want in an MMA fight; he destroys another fighter for my entertainment. That's all I ask. Honestly, get a clue guys, Boycotting Lesnar fights hurts EVERY fighter, because Dana is about business first and foremost. You're going to take money away from the business as a whole, not it's champion solely. Dana would sooner cut off his foot with a spoon than let Lesnar go, he's a HUGE draw. All that being said, Lesnar is an animal, and I LOVE IT! I don't care if he personally insulted me, my mother, and my wife on national TV, I'd still pay to see him. Call him whatever you want, but with every fight, and frankly every day of training, he becomes more and more dangerous. He's rude? He's disrespectful? He offends the sponsors? SO WHAT?? The man gets paid to break other men into bloody little piles, and as of now, he's the best at it in the UFC. Either, like me, you love him for his attitude, and will watch all his fights, or you hate him for it, and will watch all his fights for the hope that he loses. Win win for Dana if you ask me. I do see an issue in the future though if he beats Fedor (assuming they get a match); It could get like Lenox Lewis, one guy gets to the top and is so unstoppable (yes, I know he has a loss, but he pretty much just made it clear that that was a rookie mistake) that people don't want to watch anymore and the sport suffers from it. Lets make it interesting; throw him in the octagon with 4 lightweights and lets just watch. Watching him DESTROY four human beings would be massively entertaining to me.

Keep it up Brock, those of us that haven't gone soft and squeamish are counting on you. Here's hoping they give you a club and rule that only one man can leave the octagon.

Greatest Since MJ: LeBron Lays Claim (Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti)

May 5th 2009 12:40PM Greatest player right now? Sure. Greater than MJ. Never. MJ wasn't just great for what he did in the NBA, his days at NC were great too. Only time will tell if LeBron can match MJ's marks, but I don't see it happening.

And even though it was a COMPLETE failure, I'd love to see LeBron play baseball :)

25 things vanishing in America, part 2: Customer service (WalletPop)

Apr 26th 2009 3:22PM the issue of poor service and rudeness at most businesses starts with your upbringing, not your generation. Parents that let their children run amok and allow them to communicate with them disrespectfully are raising the next apathetic cashier or socially unpleasant customer service rep. I may be a child of the eighties, but i still had to address my parents as "sir" and "ma'am" (yes sir, no ma'am) and i was held accountable for MY actions and words, no matter the circumstances. being a friend to your child is not the same as being a parent. Teach them to respect your authority early on and you'll instill a sense of respect for all people later. Thanks mom and dad, for not making me one of the many with the false sense of entitlement and complete lack of social skills.

Mother of Down Syndrome Boy Helping Son Find Sex (Lemondrop)

Mar 19th 2009 2:27AM I always love reading comments after these kinds of stories, it always lets me know that there are still people in the world who think having sex/talking about sex/watching sex/any sex related thing will cause you to grow lesions on your forehead, burst your eyeballs into puddles of goo, grow a third (or even fourth!) leg/arm, and even bring us...god help us...peace without honor!!!(*gasp*) Take away the fact that he has Downs (NOT that he's retarded, just different) and what you're left with is a normal, socially awkward young man. I don't care if he's a transvestite, conjoined twin with multiple sclerosis and eczema, he still deserves to get all out of life that he can. What is so wrong about this that isn't wrong about a 30 year old basement living virgin having his mother constantly nag for grandchildren or bring women to meet him?? So this guys mom is more direct, so what? Let the man get laid, and Please....i you hold yourself to a "higher moral standard", please, hold it to yourself until it chokes you, we don't need to hear about it. Go to Pennsylvania/Delaware, become Amish, and get away from the pornography ridden, violence spewing, money obsessed world that WE, the heathens, love so dearly. When anyone wants you to talk down to them/about them, we'll catch the next buggy to Brother Eziekiel's farm and pray you haven't winded yourself on those damn dirty sheep.

Should This Girl Scout Be Allowed to Sell Cookies on YouTube? (Lemondrop)

Mar 14th 2009 11:57AM Btw...welcome to the information age...teach the girls to set up a website for cookie sales and all the accompanying payment/accounts receivable and give them skills they can REALLY use for the rest of their lives.

Should This Girl Scout Be Allowed to Sell Cookies on YouTube? (Lemondrop)

Mar 14th 2009 11:53AM OK look....the argument here that every pedophile will see her video? Completely ridiculous. She's not going to get stalked anymore than if she set up a booth at Walmart or a mall. to the argument that if she can do it, so could every girl, and would we want to see em all on YouTube, as far as i can recall, i only see the vids/pictures/text that i wish to see online, do you have some kind of girl scout cookie virus that plays them all on an incessant loop?? Setting up a booth was formerly the safest and most effective way for young girls to sell cookies, door to door was a little riskier but still safe if done correctly and under supervision. Now we have the internet and sites like myspace, facebook, youtube, etc, why not use them to their advantage if these girls need to raise money?? Seems to me it's still the same deal, just better executed. You order online, and either the cookies get mailed to you, or the girls set up a pick up booth where you get your cookies...seems to me they're just drawing in a bigger client base, and a bit friendlier one than they get outside of stores where we just spent our paychecks.

Cramer vs. Stewart: It's on! (WalletPop)

Mar 11th 2009 9:13PM No one doing a straight news report can win against Stewart...why do they even bother trying? They just end up looking worse for defending themselves against JOKES. CNN, CNBC, FOXNEWS, they all have their own lean on things, so therefore even the same story report by all three will have a different sound. Local news stations are usually your best bet for unbiased coverage. Not always, but mostly.

Cable TV fights recession by pushing porn (WalletPop)

Mar 11th 2009 8:54PM BTW: as far as keeping yoru kids soft and whiny goes...i remember a non-violent people that used to live here many ages ago, Native Americans. The Delaware, Sioux, Apache, Blackfoot, all were peaceful peoples, resorting only to violence as a last resort. All knew nothing of the world beyond their borders. What happened to them? A group of land hungry, overtly aggressive white folks and latins showed up with better weapons and ripped their land right out from under them, raped their women, and finally to just add insult, set aside small tracts of land as reservations for these people to continue their way of life. Moral of the story? Be taught from birth that yes there IS evil in the world and yes you WILL have to confront it, or get stepped on by those that ARE prepared to face it. Christians teach that the meek shall inherit the earth... that's only if the vicious don't destroy it in spite.
