Traffic Light Counts Down To Green, Promotes Eco-Awareness (Switched)

Dec 2nd 2009 3:22PM The idea of shutting off your car while the light is red is not a good one. Typically cars use *more* gas starting than if they were left idle waiting at a stop light. Let's not forget the huge amount of wear-and-tear on the starter that this imposes. This seems to only work well with gas/electric hybrid vehicles that almost never need to use the gas engine while stopped at a light, and thus can be stopped and started while at the light no problem, but then again, what's the point since the hybrid car isn't using any gas sitting there anyway?

Ask Engadget HD: What's the cheapest way to get streaming internet video on my HDTV? (Engadget HD)

Nov 18th 2009 6:09PM Personally I have an Apple TV that I put XBMC and Boxee on. I can access YouTube natively, Hulu through Boxee, and stream nearly everything else using XBMC or Boxee. The only thing that it doesn't support is Netflix, but I can do that through my Xbox 360.

New Frontiers in Etiquette: High School Photos, Tagging and Facebook (Switched)

Mar 12th 2009 2:41PM Wow, I've got horrible grammar. What I meant was this:

A user tagging the picture would post and tag another user, but that tag wouldn't show up publicly until the user that was tagged confirms the tag (either as a private, friends-only, public, etc. permission).

New Frontiers in Etiquette: High School Photos, Tagging and Facebook (Switched)

Mar 12th 2009 2:38PM I think a good way around this problem is that if social networks that allowed picture tagging would not tag the user until the user that confirms the tagging. Its a relatively simple solution IMHO.
