Michelle Obama's Anti-Obesity Campaign is OK, but What About Health Care? (Politics Daily)

Feb 27th 2010 11:41AM Hillary Clinton chaired President Clinton's 1993 health care task force. She was pretty much trashed for her efforts. Admittedly the USA of 2010 is not the USA of 1993. However, why would Michelle Obama receive a more favorable response in 2010, if she took on a similar health care leadership role, than Hillary Clinton received in 1993?

Aug 19th 2009 3:13PM Hi Spy,

You forget. The USA not only has the world's strongest conventional military machine, we have the world's largest
strategic weapons system - ICBMs.
Adolph Hitler told the German people that they had to be 'hard' (meaning murderous without mercy or remorse) as he led them to destruction. Are we 'hard'? Are we 'hard' enough to intimidate by threat or even 'hard'er to massively deploy our strategic weapons to prop up the $?
God I hope not.

Aug 11th 2009 5:02PM The most direct way to aid the unemployed, the underemployed and their families, say 60 million people, would be use the $600 billion to directly subsidize them. $10 thousand each might be enough to live on for a year or so. Then the $600 billion would be gone. What we need are jobs. But where are they going to come from? Will China and India soon begin outsourcing jobs to the United States?

Obama Ratchets Up the Rhetoric on Iran (Politics Daily)

Jun 23rd 2009 6:59PM I see no problem with President Obama trying to establish a dialogue with Iran's leaders. There is an oft quoted proverb: 'Speak softly and carry a big stick'. There was wisdom in this adage when cited by President Teddy Roosevelt 100 years ago. There is wisdom in these words for us today.
