It is amazing to see the strides made treating diabetes. 15 years ago, my younger brother was cured of type 1 diabetes from a kidney and pancreas transplant. After the surgery he never had to take another insulin unjection until the day he died. This was, unfortunately, 5 months after the transplant due to complications from the surgery and from being a diabetic for 29 years.
