Jul 14th 2010 8:29PM @Sea Urchin Most likely they did most of their real-world testing with the faux-3GS case on it, like the one that covered the phone Gizmodo eventually bought from the guy who found it in a bar. Since we know that a case stops the problem from occurring, it was probably easy to overlook. That being said, I find it hard to believe that no one that designed the phone had any problem with putting the antennae on the outside in the first place.

Jun 22nd 2010 9:56PM I think you hit the nail on the head. They're still pushing the Droid pretty hard right now, and it can pretty naturally slide into the middle tier once the Droid X and Droid 2 hit the market.

Jun 10th 2010 7:11PM I have a Droid, and I can't say I would upgrade to this. I realized that I don't need a physical keyboard. Swype is much easier to use than the Droid keyboard, and an improved keyboard would probably make it, at best, a wash.

I also want a bigger screen. Not that the Droid screen is small, but after seeing the Evo next to it I have some jealousy issues.

Apr 22nd 2010 8:43PM @Kwame Nkrumah Are there really any Verizon fanboys out there? It's a decent question to ask. As was pointed out, AT&T doesn't spend any money to advertise their biggest seller. That has to amount to a decent bit of cost savings. Add to that Verizon's push to roll out LTE by the end of the year and you must have a lot of the difference right there.

In the end I don't care how much either company makes. I care about what improvements they're making to their infrastructure and their handset lineups.
