Soldier Brandon Weir Must Take Down American Flag, HOA Demands (AOL Real Estate)

Mar 3rd 2013 5:17PM HOA's need to be stopped. They were never created to become the law of any housing area. They make all their busy body little rules, which they don't follow themselves and have the right to put lien's on your home. We had a fight with one once that we won. All there rules have to be followed by everyone, or they can not enforce them. We won this case because they didn't enforce it to their friends and family.
These dumb HOA's were created merely to make sure yards were managed and to make sure you didn't have odd colored houses that would bring down the price of near by homes, they were never meant to be able to rule your life on your own property.
Down with all HOA's end them, take away the power that they abuse daily, give the homeowner back their rights. I will not buy somewhere that has an HOA. HOA's are nothing but a bunch of people that have nothing better to do with their time than to be a busy body on their neighbors. If someone does get voted in that cares, they are quickly gotten rid of.

Coyotes in Abandoned Florida Mansion Have Neighbors on Edge (AOL Real Estate)

Oct 31st 2012 11:22PM I have lived in Arizona for 27 years, and coyotes , wild pigs, and many other creatures including rattle snakes and scorpions live right in the city with us.These are major cities with over a million people population, and we all live together. It is not always a co-existence we like, but, they are natural species that live here. Coyotes will take small dogs, cats, and I am not sure I would leave a baby unattended outside. They live on trash, and our domestic pets, especially cats. It is not a perfect set up, but, they were here first, we took their habitat. To remove all species of animals from populated areas today would more than likely cause major extinction of many of them. They have no place to go as humans take more and more land. We also live with mountain lions here as do many other states in this country. So, all I am saying, is that we all live with wild animals, no matter what state you live in, but sometimes if there is an abandon building, they may live closer to us than we like since now they can be seen.

'Sharpie Parties' Wreak Havoc on Foreclosed Homes (AOL Real Estate)

'Sharpie Parties' Wreak Havoc on Foreclosed Homes (AOL Real Estate)

Aug 18th 2012 5:10PM It isn't just kids from bad neighborhoods, or kids brought up poorly. Groups of well to do kids and kids who are pressured by peer pressure are also involved in these vandalism's. The movie Project X intensified the situation. Parents today are limited on how they can discipline their kids thanks to government interference. The kids today are treated with kid gloves and we are suppose to consider how our actions will make them feel emotionally. Well, I agree that child abuse is something people should go to jail for,but a spanking, is not going to hurt anyone except their pride as long as it is done humanely. I have seen teens at the schools harassing their teachers, and shouting at them, telling them " What are you gonna do, you can't touch me, you can't cuss at me, and you can't even yell at me, it is against the ;aw and my rights. " Parents today have their hands tied with restrictions that even teaching common sense is hard to do. My own daughter got mad at me cause I wouldn't let her go out so she called CPS and said I was abusing her. CPS came to the house saw the situation and asked my daughter if she wanted to leave, but, she could not take anything with her, just the clothes on her back. She was appalled and came to me for protection from them. CPS, even though they will deny it, told me to take away all her stuff, lock her in her room, until she thought about what all she has, and that I have the right as a parent to tell her know. They called her a spoiled brat and said to her face she deserved a smack in the mouth. So, now we know how CPS really feels about government interference. So don't blame just the kids who have hard lives, my findings are that most of this kind of violence is done by bored kids who are well off.

Principal Reduction: Is Debt Forgiveness Fair? (AOL Real Estate)

Aug 6th 2012 1:40AM I see that the big banks and government caused a lot of the economic breakdown, and most of the mortgage companies even hired their own appraisers so that the buyer could buy the house, or refinance. They did anything to get the people to take out the loan. People felt safe because their home values kept raising to make it all worth it. So I agree to a point with the write off, but, what about all the people already homeless because of this, and what about people who lost their homes due to illness. When my parents had medical bills, a house was the one thing they could not take. They had to leave you a car and a roof over your head, so mortgage companies would lower their interest, or even forgive a few months payments, they even made arrangements for lower payments. They did anything to help, because a home loan not being paid on, was no good to them.
So I see where everyone is coming from when they say that debt forgiveness should happen, but at the same time, being one of the people that lost my home because I need a transplant, well, personally, I would feel very bitter, or hurt, that I lost my home from a legitiment reason, and others who have not been ill, but hit by the economy, get to keep theirs. I now have no place to live.Because we lost our home we went bankrupt and can not get a good place even to rent, so we live in a rat trap that smells and has no flooring except plywood. Where is the justice in that? If they forgive the debt, I want my home back, or a home that will be a healthy place for me to live while I continue to wait on the transplant list.

Bank Threatens to Foreclose on Stage 4 Breast Cancer Patient (AOL Real Estate)

Jul 12th 2012 2:19AM Not to sound negative on all your efforts, but I also am a terminally ill patient. I have stage IV liver disease from a blood transfusion I received which gave me hepatitis C. I lost my job, and the medical bills kept going up and I could no longer make my house payments either, but that didn't stop HFC from taking my house and leaving me homeless. The big banks don't care about us or our problems, they just want paid. I am not saying I am a victim though. It was my bill, and I was suppose to pay it, it also is not their fault I became ill. They are a business, and bottom line, they want the loan paid for the money they gave out. I wish they would have worked with me on the payment, I really loved my house, but, with the bills from the medical, I would never have been able to pay it, no matter how much they worked with me. I wish you luck, I am sorry you are in this position, no one deserves this.

Jail Time for Phoenix Man Who Hosted Bible Study at His Home (AOL Real Estate)

Jul 8th 2012 12:44PM As far as religion, there is nothing wrong with holding bible sessions weekly, it is even a good thing for many people who require the closeness they get for their religion from them, however, as with anyone, you have to look into the laws of your city state and county for large gatherings on a scheduled basis, such as weekly, and you must also look at your HOA if you have one. Even though it is not a money making business, it still has people going to your location weekly and can cause some discomfort for neighbors who cherish their peaceful environment, as is their right as a home owner. There are many solutions to the problem of meetings, as there are meeting halls, even your local church may permit such gatherings, and if it costs money, donations to pay for the space needed could be collected. For such an event I am sure his fellow Christians would happily donate, if they are in fact as true to their belief as he is.
It just comes down to what is right, by way of the laws of the community and state, which everyone must follow, it is not an attack on religion. That is just something to cling to in order to justify your actions and make headline news with. There is no story here, just the law being upheld. I used to go to these when I was younger and enjoyed them, but ours were in the local church, or in a park where we all rented a covered shelter. No music was played when we were outside in order to not disturb others in the park with their families.

Couple Sues Landlord Over 'Haunted' House (AOL Real Estate)

Apr 17th 2012 4:02AM only those who have never seen a ghost will say they don't exist. I have lived in 3 haunted houses in my lifetime. I have lived with my family , who did not believe in them, as I did not believe at that time either, until we saw 3 in our house, and we were not the only ones who saw them. We had friends over and we all saw them. There was an old woman, whom later we found out die in the house, and there were 2 men. One was a miner, he always had on heavy work boots and a miners hat, but the other man, was dark, dressed completely in black. When I raised my children in Arizona, my child came into my room and said " Mommy, there is a ghost out there ." I had to look to make her feel better, but, she was right. There was a young woman dressed in old clothes like they wore in the cowboy days of old, and she smiled at us. Needless to say, my daughter didn't sleep in her room that night. We found out later that the house we bought had been used in suspected devil whorship and when we remodled, we found several animals with no heads buried under the floors in the earth. So, I am now a believer. Don't care who says I am crazy.

Trouble Blooms: Condo Board Sues Resident Over Flowers (AOL Real Estate)

Mar 20th 2012 5:49PM After living with an HOA a couple of times, I have decided I'd rather live next door to a trashy neighbor rather than have a select board of idiots and old prudes dictate to me how my own property should look. They did not pay for my mortgage, when they do , they can tell me what to do. All HOA's need to be deemed illegal unless they are doing what an HOA was originally intended for, and that was to make sure people kept up their yards and didn't paint their house purple or neon green. Anything that looks nice and improves the landscaping , and is water conservative for desert states, should be the owners choice, not some busy body nosey HOA. Change the LAWS MAKE THEM ILLEGAL. Did you know that if they allow one person to break the HOA laws they can not stop another from doing it, including the HOA members, they have to follow their own laws too. I fought against parked cars and won.

HOA Forces Family to Remove Disabled Child's 'Therapy Home' (AOL Real Estate)

Dec 16th 2011 7:13PM It is not a matter of wanting to live in a community that has an HOA, I hate them myself. It is very hard to find a home today that is not in an HOA. I think they should be banned by the government. Hoa's were first made to make sure that yards didn't have weeds 10 feet high and so that you would not have a purple house next door, but they have assumed the role of God over our homes today. They have made laws that have nothing to do with their rights and most of their rules take away from the rights of the home owner.
It should be none of their concern what is behind our fence in our back yards. So what if a neighbor can see the roof of a play house or a hot tub enclosure. The home owner should have rights too, after all, we bought the house not the HOA. If they want to make our house payment then they can have a say in what I do in my own yard. The people on the boards of most HOA's are people with nothing else to do than to snoop into the lives of others. I have no respect for them or their rules. I will not worship them as if they were God. I fought them once, and I won my case, because most are operated very unjustly.
