Rent-A-Center accused of harassing, taking advantage of customers (WalletPop)
Jul 27th 2009 3:45PM I worked for Rent-Town before they were bought out by rent a center.
First they hire "mananger trainees" who are no more than account reps. who first thing get a huge computer printout of customers who are behind.
90% of the job is collections. Then the "managers" are required in a shirt and tie no less to deliver and set up appliances etc.
bad place. Bad business practices. A rip off.
Don't shop tomorrow: a better Wal-Mart sale starts Sunday (WalletPop)
Dec 12th 2008 5:36PM I live in Southington (Central Connecticut). I just got a part time job in the toy department of my local Walmart. they seem so far to be an excellent company to work for. All the things you may read or the "Urban legends" of the past appear gone. The management staff are very nice and can relate to the eclectic group of associates they have on staff. I have shopped at the store since it opened. I have collected toys for over 30 years and walmart has offered me the best prices since opening in Connecticut. A typical "action figure" I buy would be $8.99 at KB, $7.99 at Toys R us and about $6.94 at walmart. American consumers are going to go where the prices are lowest, it's as simple as that, no politics, etc.
Yuck: Video Game Consoles Stored in GameStop Bathroom (Switched)
Sep 30th 2008 6:12AM I worked for a few month the summer of 08 in a KB Toys in A Mall in Waterbury CT. While it was not practice to store toys or game units in the bathroom, the backroom (stockroom), was filled with mice and rats. Traps needed to be set, there were droppings everywhere. Also the room leaked and water pooled in the stockroom and warped cieling tiles which eventually fell in to the selling floor of the store. malls are disgusting, people leave gargbage from the food court on the shelves. KB did not really care about the leaks, district management ignored my calls on at least one occasion and I was the "so called" assistant manager. Walmart and target will soon put the last nails in the KB coffin anywho.

Little Man, Big Plagiarist (Cinematical)
Jul 21st 2006 6:25AM This is a rip-off plain and simple. I do remember a cartoon short from 52 years ago! I am age 45 and grew up with these Buggs Bunny cartoons. Warner bros. legal department, shame on you, file a lawsuit, everybody else does over nothing these days, why not you. Stand up for buggs and Mel Blanc and all those talented individuals who created that cartoon.
