Dec 2nd 2009 2:57PM This isn't really a bad idea, but it's not worth tax payer dollars. There are pedestrian crossing lights that notify the walker exactly how many seconds until they can walk across. But, if you introduce these to intersections, they will not do much good. Drivers would consider it an inconvenience to shut off the engine, and power it back on. How about the people that are nervous about whether their car will start back up again? Just a thought.
