Black Friday deal roundup (Engadget)
Nov 23rd 2007 3:18AM Wal-Mart has a pretty sweet deal on a dell laptop. It has some pretty good specs but what really makes it a deal is that you get 2 gigs of memory with it for $598. It says that it's available in the stores and online. If you go to the site, you can check out the circular.

Singapore Bans Video Game With Interplanetary Lesbian Sex Scene (Switched)
Nov 17th 2007 11:21PM So, seeing two people kiss isn't decent because they're both women?
The amount of shallow people in the world amazes me. Violence is alright but heaven forbid if we show two people of the same sex kiss and grope each other.
Leopard: final features and further upgrade details (Engadget)
Oct 19th 2007 11:46AM To all those complaining about Leopard being a "Patch".
Need I remind you about the Windows 95 to 98 jump? It basically looked the same but had a LOT of changes under the hood.
Of course, it seems like a lot of people are judging the OS by graphical changes.
Also, I should mention that Vista was made to try to be more like Tiger.
You don't want Apple to change OSX dramatically. Why fix something if it isn't broken. Especially if you run the risk of breaking it in the first place...just look at Vista
As for the pirates out there. I agree that full experience of Vista is way too expensive..in terms of money and ram/space. However pirating an OS is just stupid..especially when you can get the full experience of OSX for only 120 bucks..
SCEA CEO Jack Tretton wants you to buy both a PS3 and a PS2...to save money (Engadget)
Oct 19th 2007 11:09AM I think it's still a little ridiculous that their official stance is "Buy a PS2". Microsoft is at least offering backward compatibility through software emulation.
Most people don't like to have multiple systems from the same family connected. (i.e. a PS1, PS2, and PS3 connected to the same TV). Backward compatibility is convenient because you can use one system to play all your games.
And while many people probably still have their PS2s, having an official stance of "go buy another system to do something that the PS3 used to be able to do" is just bad business.
Xbox 360 Arcade unboxed (Engadget)
Oct 15th 2007 4:12PM To those talking about 256MB not being enough. I agree somewhat. However it's good for the casual gamer. If they want a hard drive, they can pony up another 70 dollars and get one. If not, then they're good. Besides, it plays Halo 3 right out of the box, so that'll keep most people busy for a while.
And if push comes to shove, I'm sure you can get a cheap HD on ebay.
Xbox 360 Arcade finds a shelf in the wild (Engadget)
Oct 12th 2007 11:20PM Seems that nothing comes with all the cables nowadays.
Though I thought it was confirmed that it would have HDMI?
Regardless, it could be because not everyone has HD. Every TV made in the last ten years has component inputs. I guess in their eyes, if you have an HD, you can go get an extra cable. Or a premium if you're so inclined.
Of course it's more than likely that they're trying to squeeze some more money out of you.
Regardless, it's still a pretty sweet deal.
iPhone delayed in France due to unlocking laws? (Engadget)
Oct 11th 2007 5:59PM They may get paid for carrier exclusivity, but one would think that if the phone were unlocked, Apple would make more money in the long run, since everyone would buy it regardless of carrier. And we already know it's capable of working on other networks.
Of course, that's common sense and common sense doesn't always come into play
Xbox 360 Arcade console landing on October 23rd? (Engadget)
Oct 11th 2007 5:42PM So it's ready to play out of the box, unlike the Core in which you would have to buy a memory card or a hard drive. It would have been nice to have it out in time for Halo, but I'm glad I waited.
