Jun 26th 2009 10:24PM I think you have no clue! First of all i am a debt collector for a bank. All our calls are recorded! We have the right to call up to 6 times a day legally if you don't answer the phone! If you do answer and ID yourself, we cannot call for another 4 days. We are not scum and we don't care if you threaten to record us as we are doing nothing illegal!!!! We advise the debtor that we can assist with specail payment options etc. Most people who answer the phone are intelligent enough to know they accumulated the debt, therefore they owe! They are for the most part kind people who got in trouble and do talk to us. of course, occasionally we get a jerk who swears and cites the law incorrectly and makes a fool of themselves! In addition to being recored, all is noted and if it continues to be in collections and goes to court, the notes go as well...judges don't take kindly to idiots like yourselves who think someone shouldn't call on an unpaid debt!!!!
You must be in serious trouble with money to behave the way you do!!!!

I work at Citi in collections....we are so busy. People borrow the money and then don't want to pay it back. The charges are nice trips, nice restaurants, nice expensive gifts. Living beyond their means and then blaming Citi for raising rates when the account went into default! It is you the consumer who is at fault as you borrowed and now you either don't want to pay back, or you cannot as you have dozens of cards you over charged on!!!!
You want to blame Citi, blame Bush, blame the economy. How about blaming yourselves!!!! You were given trust and credit and you abused!
Blame yourselves!!!!!

I was also a restaurant manager who did the books as well! What kind of foolish thinking is that? Restaurant owners are not rich! Some barely make it after all costs for the month are covered! And these are nice places! Get out of your hole buddy! Yes, some make a lot of money, but very few...especially in this economy!!!
And of course if they pd the food servers more money it would have to be at least 12-15 per hour to do the work! then the menu prices would increase as well as less food servers and bad service would follow!!!!!
Food servers come in and do lots of work before going on the floor and stay sometimes 2 hrs after a shift doing sidework, still at less than min wage!
lars...do all a favor and stay home!!!

I was serving a black family who treated me horribly. Ran me ragged, insulted me, was terrible. His child threw up on the table, I came over and asked if everything was alright...the man looked at me and said, "does it look alright to you"? I offered napkins and such but the man wanted his bill to leave. He then thru down money to pay the bill and left me with vomit all over the table, seat and the floor! He and his wife never touched it or offfered too! To make matters worse, I counted the money for the bill and he had shortened it by 20.00!!! I had to pay the difference out of my pocket...as that was the rule of that restaurant then!
I peuked as well cleaning up that barf!

Feb 4th 2009 9:21AM I was a food server for over 20 years. Facts are facts. The owners cannot afford to pay min wage plus for all the foodservers. They would then cut back on food servers and there would be horrible service. My paychecks were always in the range biweekly of about 70-80 bucks...as you have been taxed on total sales for the shift (not on claimed tips as a previous poster said)

Ok, as for who tips...these are facts, sorry if it sounds racial as it is not meant to be.

Jewish people will run you ragged, very demanding, but tip at least 20%.

Foreignors are the worst as in their native country, tip is included. They use that excuse here, saying it is included in bill...but they know better...it is an excuse.

Women....well so so, but I have seen plenty of women leave the table after the man does and picks up half the tip and slides it into her pocket...we like it when the man charges!

Blacks, most, but not all do not tip. I worked in a restaurant where we would put a black dot on our seating chart if we had a black table. We would always make sure dots were evenly divided as blacks do not tip! There usually is an arogant tone with blacks as well and run you mad and do not tip! We had to spread the dots to be fare so all would make something for the shift! You have a lot of dots in your section...you have no money in your pocket!!!!

Kids...some surprise you and leave something...but most teens have very little money and don't tip...but some go nuts!

Elderly...they tip, but usually about 1%. They use the excuse "fixed income".....but who isn't on a fixed income?

Drunks are the best as they feel generous as they are leaving!!!

You have to tip...regardless of how much you make!

I remember as a single mom going home after a bad night with under 30.00 and giving my babysitter $35.00!

If you cannot afford to tip, then don't go out!

Food servers depend on it!

So Tiger, wise up! You are no better than anyone else! We are all equal here!!!! Don't be so darn cheap!!!!!!!!!!!

It turned into a race issue, some who never voted, only voted because Obama is part black! It's like voting for Kennedy because he was handsome! To see the media and the country saying this is a historic moment is bull crap!!!
I think the world is happy because we were foolishly voting for a "black" man with no experience who will screw the USA more than ever! We have opened the doors for disaster. Other countries will benefit from this mockery of a president elect!!
For those who voted because they thought he was the right choice, then you can sleep at night. But those who just voted because of color, you are just as stupid as they come!!!
Pray for the USA as we need it now more than ever!
He will screw up in these 4 years and do nothing he promised. He will say 4 years is not enough time and want 4 more to screw up more!!
