Brandy and Maks Still Coming to Terms With Shocking 'Dancing With the Stars' Elimination (VIDEO) (AOL TV)
Nov 17th 2010 7:33PM I am very happy that the conservatives finally figured out the voting process with the fake yahoo e-mail addresses. If you set up your compter right, with the copy process, mailing 1000 to 1500 votes in the time allowed is fairly easy
'Dancing With the Stars' Results: Who Got Voted Off Oct. 26? (AOL TV)
Oct 27th 2010 2:04PM After Donny Osmond won, I knew this shows fans were tanking. When L"il (and I am not a fan of hers) was voted off, this was also a fan based problem. Every week Derek's choregraphical talents amaze me, and yet he gets lower scores than the tea bagger's daughter. Carrie Ann is also a detriment to the panel, she is way too harsh on some people and yet lets others get off. I will be very sad if Derek and Jennifer do not get a fair shake.
Bank refuses to cash a check when armless man can't offer thumbprint (WalletPop)
Sep 7th 2009 9:22AM The bank of america (capitals omitted on purpose) wants only corporate accounts, with balnces over 500,000.00. That is why they took over Fleet Bank, whose logo was fins, for the sign of the shark (they pretended the logo was sails). the bank of america is not the same bank that built California, but a southern takover trust, assuming that we will still "trust" the bank of america name.
Preacher's Wife Warns of Adultery in the Pulpit (BV Black Spin)
Aug 30th 2009 8:52PM I worked with an episcopal minister who cheated on his first wife with his second, his second with his third, and now cheats with anyone who will have him. I sometimes think that there is some kind of attraction to sin and or sex that attracts some men (and/or women) to the ministry, so that they can, in their counseling, be a vouyer, and/or puts himself into the all powerful mode to prey on naive persons coming for help. We have seen that in the Catholic priesthood with perverts going after youngsters, and among ministers and rabbis who cheat on their spouses. As Reverend Jim Jones proved, the devil can come clothed in sacred vestments.
Abdul Tweets: I'm Leaving 'Idol' (PopEater)
Aug 5th 2009 10:14AM Paula was part of the entertainment value of the show. However, I only watched two episodes in the past seasons, after Melinda Dolittle was eliminated although she had the most talent. I asked a person who had moved here after working for Fox about it, and he told me that the "votes" were counted before the show aired.
Apple Takes on Microsoft's 'Laptop Hunter' Ads (Switched)
Jul 20th 2009 12:44PM When friends want to buy a computer, I tell them to get a Mac. I have always used PC's because the businesses I worked with used PC's. but when a person gets a Mac they never have to call me. I have a Dell laptop with Vista thant crashed 38 times between Wed and Saturday a week ago. I bought my first PC when IBM came out with its first PC, either in 80 or 81, but I wish that all of the time I had to figure out the various Dos and Windows programs and ills (and I have used EVERY ONE, was used in actually doing work and solving problems. I now own 18 computers, including ones I put together myself, but I am retired and play with them as a hobby, but I still think that the MAC was the best windows system ever stolen from Xerox's PARC.
Area man boarded up in his own house: A new strategy to protect cities? (Daily Finance)
Jun 10th 2009 1:57PM My father rented out our farmhouse for $50 per year when he retired to town, because when you leave a house in the countryside, it takes about two weeks before it has every appliance, wire, and piece of plumbing stolen. Unfortunately, a subsequent tenant started a meth lab, and the home I grew up in and loved became the site of a murder.
I live in a small suburb, and have lived in Pittsfield, and as an owner, I am now fighting the blight that is overtaking us all. When I was young, I worked for a summer in the Codman Square section of Dorchester, in an ice cream shop, in a busy and well kept up shopping area. Two years after I left that job, the neighborhood was so bad that only three stores of thirty four were still open, and I was afraid to go into the neighborhood even in daylight.
Waxing Poetic on Paris' Prison Sentence (The Cooler)
Jun 5th 2007 10:03AM I was not suprised that Paris did not read the citations she received. She is functionally illiterate, reads at about a third grade level, and was always told by her mother that book knowledge would never be needed for a young girl in her circumstances. I feel sorrry for her situation, and angry at the industry set up to make money off a name without talent or accomplishment.
American Idol: First Live Results Show (AOL TV)
Feb 23rd 2007 12:28PM I wonder how Fantasia will do in a musical, especially with tryout changes, as (even she admits it) she is functionally illiterate. I was suprized at the comments on the Jay Leno interview with the judges on Monday evening when the Randy, Simon, and Ryan all agreed that Fantasia was the best Idol. Last nights performance by Fantasia would not have gotten her into the top 24 this year, but I saw in the credits that Fantasia is still managed by 19, Simon's firm. That explained a lot. It was also interesting that on the Tonight Show interview the group managed to avoid mentioning Clay Aiken among those who have become successful after the show.
Cinderella Royal Castle Suite (Luxist)
Jan 30th 2007 1:07PM Aprops of nothing, years ago I had a tax client who complained to me that her house seemed too small. I asked her how that could be, as she had 17 room ncluding two kitchens, and only her and her husband lived there.
She replied, "When you have lived in a castle, everything else seems too small". Her prior residence was a castle in Austria.
