Dad called pervert for taking pictures of his own kids in public {ParentDish}
Jul 19th 2008 11:43PM I am an artist and put a lot of figures in my paintings. I am sometimes enchanted with the actions of children in public but don't dare photograph them or even sketch them for fear of being thought a pervert! And I am a grandmother of 2! It's sad that this is the way of things! And I am suspicious of people who stare too long at my grandchildren! It wasn't this way when we were growing up! I know it's a psychological problem but it does need to be come down on like any other crime. Stricter laws and follow ups. Ankle bracelets. No second chances.
Clay Aiken Impregnates Someone! {TMZ}
Jun 3rd 2008 1:01AM Why is everyone so down on this? Melissa Etheridge had a long-term partnership with Julie Cypher, which made headlines. During this partnership, Cypher gave birth to two children, Bailey Jean, born February 1997, and Beckett, born November 1998, fathered by sperm donor David Crosby. Because they are gay they needed a little help. No big thing. They wanted to be parents and it seems that they are. And good ones.With his background as a teacher for special kids I am sure Clay will be an excellent father. As an older mother Jaymes will be settled and both are in the income bracket to take care of the child. So get off your soap boxes and wipe off your glass houses. I am not a "Claymate" Just for the record and am not gay, but a human who thinks that everyone deserves a chance at father and motherhood without so much negativity! And as for the artificial insemination? It might be the age factor or it might not! But what ever goes on between someone's legs is their business! You buy their music not their private life!
UPDATE: AriZona's Sweet Southern "Racist" Tea? {Black Voices Blog}
Feb 24th 2008 12:57AM After reading more of these comments I have to say more. The house is not a plantation. It is "Federal style". So is the one I live in although mine is brick. I drink Sweet tea. Am I a racist? You bet your britches I am not!
My mother left when I was 5 years old. A wonderful black woman names Mamie helped my dad and grandmothers raise me. Sometimes her granddaughter would come to play with me. That was the highlight of my existence!
I remember when it was time for me to go to grammar school I was so excited to be able to go to school with Jackie only to be told that I could not because she had to go to a separate school. When I asked why the racial issue was explained to me (This was in the 1960's). You better believe I pitched a fit and boycotted school! I went kicking and screaming and ran away from school 3 days running.
I also remember one night when Mamie was babysitting me and I asked her to read me a story. She told me that she could not. When I asked why she said that she had never learned how to read. So I read to her. The next day my dad and I had a talk which resulted in Mamie getting her reading lessons and GED. My other best grownup friend was a Creek Indian dwarf who came to do our yard work once a week. He taught me more about plants and animals that any books could. To this day Little people are not "Freaks" to me but special friends.
In my heart I know that without Mamie I would not have made it. She was a mother to me. I never thought of her color. Nor do I think of color today. Or size. But I do judge a person by attitude. And it seems that this whole label thing has gotten out of hand via the attitude thing. Someone took the first thing that came into their mind about the South and used it. So what? Like the saying goes "Even bad press is good"
Off the soap box again
UPDATE: AriZona's Sweet Southern "Racist" Tea? {Black Voices Blog}
Feb 23rd 2008 8:13PM Actually the oldest "Sweet Tea" recipe comes from a cookbook dated 1879 which is well after the time of the War Between the States. To be even more precise no "Mammy" ever wore anything like the red dress in the illustration. We Southerners think of Iced tea as more of something to sip on a porch or with lunch than something associated with plantations. And it was really hard for anyone to get ice on a plantation. It had to be shipped by boat or train from up North back then. As for AZ. Teas I do like them, but I am still waiting for the half dozen cups I saved up for and sent off for 10 years ago to arrive.

Girth Surcharge: Should Overweight People Pay More to Fly? {Gadling}
Oct 16th 2006 4:20PM I agree that when you purchase a seat you should receive your rented amount of real estate. I am very claustrophobic and flying just makes it worse. Having to be under a person that I don't know for hours on an over night flight overseas or foot the bill to first class is a nightmare. The trick is to book in advance, and tell the airlines of your condition. Get a two row seat for you and your companion and take the isle seat. If traveling alone Tell them in advance that you have this condition and the will have to place you in a comfortable seat. I have been taken to a hospital because of this.
The obese lady actually insisted on raising the armrest because it hurt her and filled half my seat. And she knitted, Constand elbows! ( I am a tall sized 9 female.) After 3 hours I ended up with chest pains and on a connection in Atlanta DELTA had to take me to the ER. They were very nice though.
So there are more problems that only discomfort.

The TomKat/Suri Conspiracy Timeline {TMZ}
Jul 14th 2006 3:30AM Maybe, if there is a baby, it is really deformed. Can you imagine how Tom Cruise's movie stock would plummet? He would be accused on sonogramming the kid into a twisted version of a sub human.
those are safe waves, not harmful rays from outerspace. Don't think that would make her an alien.
The TomKat/Suri Conspiracy Timeline {TMZ}
Jul 14th 2006 3:28AM Well I never waddled. And according to height and build and weight gained you carry babies differently. Although I do think she is a bit co-dependant. She is so much younger and probably still overwelmed by so much that has happened. But they really need to get some photos out for the public to squash these rumors. It is getting weird! I suddenly realized that there had been no photos. I am not a big baby watcher but when it was brought up it did seem a bit strange. If there is something wrong there isn't anything to be ashamed of. The world will back them with compassion.
