U.S. Authorities Can Now Seize Laptops Arbitrarily, Indefinitely (Switched)
Aug 1st 2008 2:58PM My concern with that policy is not only these technologies mentioned in the article. It would include portable teledevices for the deaf. It could include possibly electronic devices that would assist the blind and other handicapped people. I admit that I am deaf. Out of the Bible, "Thou shalt not curse the deaf nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD" --Leviticus 19:14 Originally, it was part of the Law given by God through Moses to the Jews at Mount Sinai. We and God know that the deaf and the blind are part of the diversity of handicaps. There is a principle in terms of treating the handicapped not only the deaf or the blind or deaf and blind, I think. For those who does not know what a TDD is, it is something like a keyboard with a small screen that a deaf person can use a regular telephone with or use the existing telephone lines. Anyway, should an agent seize the electronic device used by handicapped people, it could make their lives more difficult.
Pope Blames 'Society' For Pedophile Priests (News Bloggers)
Apr 17th 2008 4:06PM How is it that the Roman Catholic Church, which says it is a Christian church not follow the requirement set in Titus 1:6 which requires church leaders to be married men while that church has unmarried church leaders from the pope on down the church ladder to the local priest? Some say it has to do with leaving assets to the church after the death of a church leader. The same requirement in Titus can be similar to the requirement for Old Testament Jewish priests to be married men. That is something to think about. I think the Roman Catholic Church and its leaders should be rebuked publicly by true Christians for its failure to follow Scripture. Let such Christians do so in word and mouth including the use of sign language for the deaf as well braille for the blind.
Why Atheists Should Say, "Thank God for Christianity" (News Bloggers)
Oct 23rd 2007 2:31PM Jefferson had some contempt toward institutional Christianity. It was evident in his writings. During the Colonial era, the Anglican church (one can call it a British style sort of Catholicism minus the Pope and a few things)was more or less powerful depending on where it was in America and had sway in the southern colonies before Baptists became a major force later on. The Anglican church, it seems, has roots in Roman Catholicism and even Anglican churchmen often wear red skullcaps similar to Catholic archbishops and cardinals. In fact, the Roman Catholic Church is not following Scripture in many ways. One example is unmarried clerics when Titus 1:6 requires clerics to be married men. One can think of Desmond Tutu, one of Africa's most promient Anglican churchmen who has been pictured wearing such skullcaps as well being one of the most famous dissidents against apartheid. I believe he is a married man. True, the Anglicans in America after Independence became the Episcopal Church. Today? It is seen as part more or less with the Anglican Communion. I confess I am an Independent Baptist but not affliated with the Southern Baptists and I am grieved that some Baptists speak and support the idea that America could be a near theocracy. Have any of them forgotten the spirit, for lack of a better word, of the Danbury Baptists? The Danbury Baptists are famous for their letter to President Jefferson concerning freedom of religion and his reply to them is among the most famous replies of American leaders concerning the hot issues of their day. Atheists are simply declared fools by the Bible, that is true. But that nonwithstanding, it would be much worse if the country turned into a theocracy which would get much sorer judgement from God. Witness the good Lord's many rebukes of the Jewish religious leaders of His day for their hypocrisy and over adherence to traditions. One famous rebuke to them to this effect: "Ye are like the whited graves of men but rotten like dead men's bones..." Over the years the Jews developed traditions and doctrines that deviated from what the Lord (Jesus was a Jew from the tribe of Judah, line of King David)judged was correct Judaism. One can deduce, I admit, that the Jewish leaders got their traditions from more or less from the Talmud. Jesus even told them of a particular verse from the book of Isaiah that goes like this, "Their lips speak close but their hearts are far from me." A similar indictment can be said of today's certain Christian church leaders and their followers, though. Jesus was not the only one who instigated the Jewish leaders. His cousin, John the Baptist, once told a group of them they were like vipers when they came to be baptized of him. The freedom of religion in this country does include the religion of no belief in any deity. I have the sentiment that some Christians need to be reminded that the Treaty of Tripoli of 1796 (some say 1797 and I am not sure which is the proper year for this treaty) had a comment inside that the United States was not founded in any way upon the Christian religion. That is confirmed in one of many examples, it seems, that a few Presidents were not seen as true Christians. John Adams and John Quincy Adams (2nd and 6th Presidents respectively) were of the Unitarians which is seen as not a true Christian sect. There are many other ways to prove America was not founded on Christianity. Jesus' reply to the question asked by Pontius Pilate whether he was a king should help these same Christians. It is one thing if a town is, let's say, 75% Christian and it could outlaw abortions and forbid bars there BUT it is another if certain Christians try to do the same on the federal level. I am no supporter of abortion but a theocracy in the federal level seems more worse than mere abortion. I do not advocate violence though. That is all for now. Thank you.
Mo Wants To Know: Who's the Most Christian? (News Bloggers)
Mar 2nd 2007 11:18AM Please forgive me. Sorry I bragged Baptists have the most orthodox doctrines and practices. Mormons are NOT considered Christians and their doctrines and practices are not quite scriptural. They teach that Jesus and Satan are created beings. True, Satan was once Lucifer a created being and Jesus was not. Jesus told the Pharisees that he knew Abraham. I admit that the Amish more or less kind of remind me of the Pharisees in some ways. If it is possible with any of you, please do not reject my comments concerning the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches with the Lord's help. Please do not harm any members of any religion. Thank you again.
Mo Wants To Know: Who's the Most Christian? (News Bloggers)
Mar 2nd 2007 10:45AM Baptists have the most orthodox doctrines and practices and almost mirror in some cases the immediate church of the apostolic era. I am an Independent Baptist as far as polity is concerned. Baptist church leaders are married men because of the commandment of Titus 1:6 and the Roman Catholic clergy are not following that commandment. What is more is that cardinals wear scarlet skullcaps and bishops wear purple skullcaps. Would that be related to Revelation 17 verse 4? Note please that that chapter speaks of a symbolic woman. Chapter 18 speaks of coming out of her especially the 4th verse. Have you noted that the Roman Catholic Church when its influence is strongest, it seems to emphasize Mary than Jesus. How is it that many churches are dedicated to "Our Lady of.." instead of Jesus? The same could be said of Eastern Orthodoxy. That church has similar doctrines and practices but a bit different than the Roman Catholic Church. The schism of 1054 played a part. Let many memebers of such churches repent of these false doctrines and practices that are not scriptural and leave these churches and seek forgiveness and salvation of Jesus. Thank you.
Volvo hands XC90 keys over to His Holiness (Autoblog)
Jul 7th 2006 3:18PM I don't know much of the gay angle concerning Volvo. On the other hand, has not anyone read the last book of the Bible, Revelation, specifically the 17th chapter? In it, it speaks of a symbolic woman dressed in purple and scarlet (a shade of red) decked with gold and semiprecious stones even including some jewels. Have anyone seen the pictures of the funeral of Pope John Paul II with cardinals having scarlet vestments and skullcaps? Many church leaders have gold crosses on their chests. Some of these crosses are decorated. Also, are not church leaders from the pope down to the local priest in direct violation of Titus 1:6 which says the pastor (bishop in the King James Bible and not in the Catholic sense)is to be the husband of one wife? It says that he has to be the husband of a literal wife, not figuratively to a church. Sex is part of the package. Has not Paul the Apostle say that the Bible is inspired of God? If that is the case then the Roman Catholic Church IS in variance in doctrine and practice? Thank you for your consideration.
