Aug 13th 2010 8:13AM 50% of all marriages end in divorce or seperation. Domestic violence through spousal abuse has a much more adverse affect than being the child of a single parent. A child can live in a home with a father and mother and be abused, ignored and abandoned. A single parent can provide enough love, encouragement and strength to help children grow into positive and strong adults. There are many examples in our society to prove it. Bill O'Rielly is an entertainer and anyone who gives him more credit than that is just drinking the right wing koolade he serves everyday. He is just Howard Stern without the naked women and drunken dwarfs.

Banks have survived on borrowers misery and have made foreclousure a huge business. How many loans do you think were approved for people the banks knew would default due to poor credit and inadequate funds. The recent first time home buyers craze with a promised $8000 refund pushed many loans through for couples unable to actually pay for their mortgages.

Oprah uses the pain and anquish of people to stay on top. I believe she cares in some manner of speaking, however, these people are booked to fill seats and draw viewers. She exploits and sensationalizes just like others in her profession. She just knows how to market it better. AND HOW MANY PEOPLE HAS SHE LEANED TOWARDS CALLING HER SPECIAL OR FAVORITE GUESTS.

Aug 5th 2010 1:29AM In schools the same laws do not apply when safety of students is a concern. Cell phones are not allowed in most schools and are contraband, making them subject to search and seizure. This lawsuit shows us what is so wrong with this "sue to get rich" society we live in.

Jul 29th 2010 5:25PM It is most certainly true. I worked at a Federal Prison that had a full service salad bar with soups and fresh fruits, ham and chicken salads and beverage choices. I worked at a camp that had a syrup bar and they actually had a christmas meal complete with cornish game hens and tons of fresh fruit. They ate their share of chili over rice and cold cuts but they were always good quality items. Believe what you want. City jails are horrible but most state and federal facilities rock.

Jul 29th 2010 5:17PM Hey flippin...There are lots of Fat inmates in Federal Prison. Some are so big they have to have special medical treatment for sleep disorders. I have had the sad privledge of strip searching extremely Fat inmates and it ain't pretty.

Jul 29th 2010 5:10PM I was a Food Sertvice Foreman and Asst Administrator for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Inmates in Federal Prison have full service salad bars, fresh fruit choices, cereal bars, their choice of beverages and full service dining. They get three meals a day each with entrees, desserts, vegetables and starches.ONE PRISON CAMP I WORKED IN HAD A SYRUP BAR AND FRESH FRUIT BAR AT EVERY BREAKFAST. IMATES CAN RECEIVE SPECIAL (EXPENSIVE) RELIGIOUS MEALS. Inmate workers in the kitchen are paid small wages but they don't pay for room and board, meals, clothes, education, sports and gym time, religious service. They have commisaries where they can buy everything from sneakers to canned tuna. This on under 3 dollars a day per inmate when I was with them. Schools need to look to food brokers and corp's like burger king and McDonalds for large quantity buys of discontinued items like beef and chicken patties, breakfast and lunch items and paper products. Brokers can sell districts tens of thousands of pounds of meat at rock bottom prices which can then be distributed throughout the district schools. All it would take is someone with common sense and drive to feed our children great food at affordable prices. Of course the people in charge would need to help each other remove their heads from their rear ends to initiate a program that would work.....
