Netflix Customer Service Drops E-Mail In Favor of Real People (Switched)

Aug 18th 2007 7:38AM I love Netflix and have since we joined years ago. They are always responsive, and with the new call center located in the US I am even more inclined to remain a loyal customer. So many corporations could learn something here.

On the AOL Journals advertising mini-brouhaha (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Nov 27th 2005 10:18AM Just for clarity's sake... I only said "That is just plain wrong and we (the vocal minority) have been some of the strongest supporters of this community." The 'draw' to aol journals has been everybody's contribution of time and love and respect for each other's writing and life experience. We ALL are what has made this community special. By the way Jason, the list of exodus journals is growing every day as more and more people come to Blogspot and start over again. My list here: http://judithheartsong.blogspot.com/ is at 89 journals and counting. The list is growing every day. Judith Olivia HeartSong

On the AOL Journals advertising mini-brouhaha (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Nov 27th 2005 9:07AM Dear Jason.... in this short post you have already showed more humanity than all the other AOL reps combined. I am one of the journalers who is now writing at Blogspot since the exodus from aol journals over the ads. My journal is still up, blackened and sad with disclaimers over the ads. My journal has always been filled with life and art (I am a painter) and have always published new and recent paintings with my entries, and aol has touted my journal at every turn in their advertising, including an earlier POST article about aol journals. Now they suddenly ambushed our PAID journals with these ads, and yes, I want them off my journal.... and when they all come to their senses and take them off, I will return to my aol journal and continue to write - but never again will I completely trust aol after this fiasco and I will continue to back up all entries at Blogspot where there are no ads. NOBODY has bothered to talk to us, and I have offered repeatedly to come in and talk to you all as I live right here locally. AOL has made it clear that they could care less about their paying customers. The first mistake Kathie made was saying that only "several dozen" people have complained... the second mistake was saying that most other blog formats contain ads. We know that the first statement was a lie, and the second statement is at best ill-informed. I am so disgusted that I have spent a year and a half of my time building a beautiful and peaceful place to be, only to have aol ruin it with these ads..... the disclaimer is not good enough (if they ever get it up), I never would have started an aol journal with screaming ad banners at the top and I feel betrayed and used. I have wasted DAYS of my time trying to back up all my entries in my new space..... which is beautiful and peaceful and ad-free by the way..... and this never should have happened in the first place. John Scalzi went so far as to remove posts to his blog that were not in the appropriate thread that were complaining about the ads, and I am pretty sure that he and Joe hope to stop talking about it and the vocal minority will go away. That is just plain wrong and we (the vocal minority) have been some of the strongest supporters of this community. The all-mighty dollar and bottom-line mean nothing when you cannot listen to your customers. Shame on aol and get these ads off my blog. Judith Olivia HeartSong
