Mar 3rd 2012 5:35AM My father had to put my stepmother in a nursing home; they are both in their late 70's. My stepmother developed a type of dementia, and my father could not care for her 24/7. She would get up in the middle of the night and start cooking stuff; my dad was afraid that she might burn the house down. He even had trouble going to the store to get food; she couldn't walk well, could not manage a walker nor one of those electric carts, and she wouldn't stay in the car while he went shopping. Unfortunately, all the rest of us live hundreds to several thousands of miles away, and could not help out. Her kids haven't offered any help, so my father did what he had to do. He put my stepmother in a nursing home, where she is nearby and cared for 24/7. He visits her every day.

It is moot as to whether he thinks that his mother should go to a nursing home; if he had concerns, he could have had social services people check in on her. And what about Jack's interest in the house? I think this fellow Peter has a LOT of explaining to do, and had better get himself a lawyer. What an a-hole.

Sure, she has the right to do so, just as belching and farting in public is not expressly prohibited by law, but it's not appropriate.

May 14th 2011 2:24AM The biggest problem is, what might happen to this child in the future? This is a young girl who is getting injections that might (or might not) be basically safe for mature adults, but what studies have been done for injections for children? What might happen to that little girl ten years, fifteen years down the road? What about any children she might have? This whole scenario is absolutely frightening.
