Smoking hurts on Saudi airline (Gadling)

Feb 5th 2009 11:17PM Do your reading, people, and quit whining about second hand smoke. They have shown that 95% of cases first attributed to second hand smoke could be traced back to RADON... long before we ever even knew about it, it was killing us.
The stories about people dieing of lung cancer who never smoked a day in their lives, and none of their family smoked. RADON.
A really good reason to test your home!

Sasha Obama Brings the Ugly Doll to the White House (ParentDish)

Jan 18th 2009 3:00PM It is called a Mimosa and has been around for quite a long time.

The new milk jug makes its debut (ParentDish)

Jul 2nd 2008 6:23PM All this blab about unpasturized milk.
A farm can't sell milk like that unless it is labled 'For Animal Consumption Only' or 'Not For Human Consumption', something in that neighborhood.
There is a big amount of trust that the consumer gives the farmer when he takes it home and drinks it. I would surely hope that the farmer follows strict cleansing of the udder, and clean milk buckets, and quick cooling of the milk.
A person can heat and then cool the milk at home. I am pretty sure that will effectively kill any bad stuff in there.
The 'whole' milk that you buy at the store is not whole. The cream is gone, and it sure looks watered down, from what I remember of living on a dairy farm in the 80's and hand milking cows.
By the way... I bought milk from the store to feed my son after he turned 1 year old. I did not grow up there, and did not care for the taste.

Top Tips to Avoid Identity Theft (Switched)

Jun 10th 2008 11:32AM Sometimes it doesn't help to do it all.
My ex husband and his girlfriend got my SS# from our divorce papers, ran up a nearly 1000 dollar phone bill, and they are still trying to get the money from me!
I had moved away, out of state, and I have to file a police report in the town it happened in... I live 400 miles away!!
I sent all pertinent info to a friend, but they would not let him file for me. What a crock.
I hope they don't put the full SS# on papers like that anymore... at least not on the copy that they give your ex!!

Florida To Ban Fake Bull Balls? Nuts To That (Asylum)

May 3rd 2008 11:27AM Like we can't find something else to pass laws about... how about enforcing the ones we have now.
KY has a law on the books about it being against the law to alter your exhaust and make it louder than originally equiped.
There is a law I would love to see enforced.
Matbe FL is has more of these boy toys 'hanging around', I have only seen a few, and 90% are on cattle trailers, lol.

7 States Consider Lowering the Drinking Age (Asylum)

May 3rd 2008 10:38AM I think that when they show their military ID, then they should be allowed to drink, but don't raise it for everyone.
I live in Kentucky, and you should see the way half the people drive when they are SOBER... insurance is double what I paid in IL, because 'there are a lot of accidents in KY'... thats what my insurance co said 8 years ago when I moved here. Yeah, no doubt, they don't even offer drivers training in school, but you still can get your license at 16, after having a permit for 6 months.
No wonder KY is one of the states ready to lower the drinking age.

Up in smoke: New York cigarettes hit $9 a pack (WalletPop)

Apr 10th 2008 10:32PM
I recently read that 9 out of 10 deaths blamed on second hand smoke was actually caused by radon poisoning.

Does this fact have any impact on the holier than thou NON smokers opinions???

Probably not, but it does explain why thousands of people fall victim to lung cancer, when they never smoked, or children who get 'smoking related' diseases, who really were not around smoke.

Taxes should be equaled out across the board, if you want to tax tobacco... tax ALL tobacco.
Has no one but me noticed that snuff does not get taxed like cigarettes???
Cigars do not get taxed like cigarettes... I already know why, our lawmakers sit back with their fine whiskey and big, stinky cigars and laugh at us little folk.

Lets have our leaders pay the same taxes on their fat cigars as we do for cigarettes!!!! We will see some action, because they won't do it, they will change it fast and find someone else to pick on!!!

UPDATE: AriZona's Sweet Southern "Racist" Tea? (Blackvoices Main)

Feb 23rd 2008 8:19PM Oh, come on, people.
The lady in pink is wearing a fashionable gown. Slaves wore rags, at the very least, no hoop skirts... the plantation owners did not expend that kind of money on clothes, they got cast offs. Homespun. That did not come in pink.
Hoops are not good for the house chores that they had to do.
Facts, people, history. No slurs intended, do your research.

Grandma Crashes into DMV (AOL Video Blog)

Mar 7th 2007 9:57PM Driving is a sore subject no matter what your age.
With all the changes in laws and signs that sometimes we really don't know what they mean... EVERYONE should have to take a two or three hour class before renewing their license, every renewal period.
They should be given questions that pertain to everyday driving scenarios. Who has the right of way in ___ situation? What should you do when you see an emergency vehicle? Then ask them what do they REALLY do, and what do other drivers do? Honestly, I moved to KY from IL... KY has no respect for police, ambulances, fire trucks... they just keep driving. They do not require drivers ed for 16 years olds, but they can get a license at 16. They are taught by their mom, grandpa, or whoever, who already has bad habits and just pass them on to the kids.
I had drivers ed, and I won't say I am a perfect driver, but I am aware of where my car is, I keep it on the right side of the yellow line, and STOP and LOOK before turning right on red.
Anyone who has come to Paducah for the Quilt Show in April of every year can tell you how bad the drivers are here.
My insurance more than doubled, first they said it was because I was new to the area and didn't know my way around, then their excuse was because this is a high accident risk area.
