The world's ten creepiest abandoned cities (Gadling)

Apr 28th 2011 9:02PM It's sad that some cities close down because so many folks move elsewhere....but I feel that is much better than those places and people's lives that have been wiped out by so many recent tornadoes across the south.
And yes, I live in the south...and like it...even though my wife and I have gone to that central closet several times during the past few days as the storms, fortunately, pass over us...with lots of noise.

10 tips for making your stuff last longer (WalletPop)

Oct 5th 2010 9:49PM I've used injector blades in my razor for years. Works great. The blades come in a pack of seven...and to keep things going smoothly, I've set my own schedule: Insert a new blade each Sunday...whether it needs it or not.

Shoplifting rings and weak economy spur retail theft (Daily Finance)

Nov 4th 2009 9:12PM Not only retail theft, but have you noticed in the daily police reports the abundance of vehicle and home break-ins in your own area. I have. So sad that it has come to this. I grew up in the 1930's depression, but we made it without stealing from others.
But then, we were honest Americans. Too bad we can't forget politics...and become Americans again.

Jami Bernard's Ad Rant: Why would you want it in the can? (WalletPop)

Oct 17th 2009 11:25PM Bud is OK...but I've been a Miller High Life fan for years and plan to continue to do so, After all on Oct 2, I turned 85, Why should I plan on changing now?

White House Goes After Glenn Beck 'Smear' and Fox News 'Lies' (Politics Daily)

Oct 2nd 2009 10:59PM Politics, politics, politics. We used to be Americans, working and fighting together for our country, but as time passed, money seemed to replace honor for country. At the age of 18 I was drafted into the U.S Army as an infantry rifleman and scout, served in the southwest Pacific area, namely New Guinea and the Philippines. During all that time, while the shooting was going on around us I don't recall any of us asking each other which political we preferred. We were Americans. Wish we could be again.

One Year Later: Are we socialist yet? (Daily Finance)

Sep 19th 2009 11:19PM What has "our" country come to?. To me, it's so sad. As a U.S. infantry rifleman and scout in the S.W. Pacific during WWII, all of us, in the military and the folks back home worked and fought together.. By doing so, we won that worldwide war.
Recently, it's been Republicans vs Democrats fighting against each other.for control of our country. How have we gone so wrong?
I think its time we forget politics...and become Americans again.

Don Imus brings his 'capitalist sensibilities' to Fox Business (Daily Finance)

Sep 3rd 2009 9:26PM It seems the tone in these postings is beginning to change for the betterment of our country...instead of betterment of parties. As an infantry rifleman and scout in the southwest Pacific area during WWII we were fighting for our country...not a political party...and, we won!
I would like to see us all become "Americans" again, working for our country...the United States
It seemed to work so much better then!

Interesting writers know how to make a long story short. I never made it through your first paragraph. Doh!

Kitten Survives Six Days in Duffel Bag (Pawnation OLD)

Aug 26th 2009 1:15AM Such a sick thing to do to an animal. But, today, I am so ashamed of some of our countrymen...but not all, fortunately!
As an infantry veteran of WWIII I, along with other Americans, fought for this country and our citizens, But, today, I don't believe that included those who were cruel to animals, those who now do drive-by shootings, home invasions, etc., etc., etc.
I think it's time we became real Americans again....working together for all of us.

A Cool Use for Recycled Tin Cans (Shelterpop)

Aug 14th 2009 8:50PM Our city, Fort Smith, Arkansas allows us to recycle all types of metal cans along with clear plastic items...which our family does.
In fact in our neighborhood, those, along with our regular trash,in separate containers, were picked up this morning.
Thankfully, many cities across this country are doing this on a regular basis. But, I do wonder about what counties are doing for those living outside a city. Those folks probably would also like to participate...if they aren't already doing so.
