Antonio Banderas absent for part of Melanie's battle with addiction (Celestrellas)
Sep 23rd 2011 11:52AM The best thing you can do for an addict is to just let them work it out for themselves. Any "support" just makes you an enabler and a crutch for the addict to lean on.
Letting Melanie get sober on her own is the best thing Antonio could do for her.
Henry Winkler Refuses to Be Defeated By Dyslexia (PopEater)
Jul 7th 2011 5:58PM Henry Winkler is one of my favorite people. I wish he would work more often. I thoroughly enjoy him.
Women Who Earn More Than Men: A Girl's Guide to Being the Bigger Breadwinner (MyDaily)
Mar 2nd 2011 4:29PM The woman's movement wanted women to be treated as equals. Worrying about paying bills, the financial future and having to bird-dog someone else' spending comes with the package.
It's time to put your big-girl pants on and join the fight.
Why Does Everyone Cheat on Elizabeth Hurley? (PopEater)
Feb 16th 2011 7:39PM Non-alpha male types are no better. I know some not-so-good-looking men who cheat on their wives. A man's status is not the only factor. It has a lot to do with how someone was raised. If he was raised with sound, moral values the chances are he will carry that into a relationship. Handsome, athletic and successful men can be "nice guys" as well. Liz, like most women, likes the bad boy. Plain and simple.
Time to Turn Off National Anthem Before Sports Events (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)
Feb 9th 2011 2:01PM What Kevin Blackistone needs is a good punch in the mouth. Saying that The Star Spangled Banner is irrelevant is not only stupid, but insulting to everyone who gave their life for this country. If some spoiled athlete can't give three minutes of his time to honor the people who have made it possible for him or her to be there in the first place, then let them pick up a rifle and do it for themselves.
I'm sick to death of these spoiled intellectuals, reaping the benefit of the safety and security that those who died in service provide for them, turning around to thumb their noses at the nod due to them.
Mr. Balckistone better hope he never runs across me in a dark alley. I might forget that I'm a gentleman.
Lance Armstrong's Big Win Not on Bike (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)
Jan 21st 2011 2:45PM Once again, people making judgments about someone's fate based on a person's likability. If Barry Bonds were this lovable lout that joked with reporters and not the ascorbic person he is, we would never hear anything about his alleged steroid use. So, because Armstrong gives of his time and effort to promote a cure for cancer, he gets a pass.
Whatever happened to the concept of justice being blind? What this world needs is a lot less opinions from sports "journalists" and a lot more reporting from sports reporters.
One last thing. Sport Illustrated is not a factor in the world of sports media anymore. The only issue that sell anymore are the swimsuit issues. Perhaps they should just publish nude women and be done with it. This sensationalistic witch hunt crap is just that. Crap!
What Is Your Greatest Weakness? (AOL Jobs)
Jan 14th 2011 1:29PM A good answer would be to say, "I usually don't get enough exercise because of my past work schedules and the time I'm spending in my current job search." Then I would say, "but I am altering my expectations about the level of exercise I need and that I am working harder at getting in a work-out whenever I can instead of skipping it altogether." This would show that my work is most important to me, but that I realize that my health, and other aspects of my life, are important too. It shows that I am disciplined in work and that I am trying to discipline myself in other areas too.
Sex, Drugs, Cash? College Kids Would Rather Have a Self-Esteem Boost (ParentDish)
Jan 12th 2011 2:15PM Self-esteem is boosted by challenges and accomplishment. Boosts are a temporary solution to a permanent problem. Having someone pat you on the back is a nice moment, but it will not cover the depth and scope of your lifetime. Building character over time through overcoming the trials and tribulations of life will make you happy. Like my father always use to say, "The strongest steel is forged in fire".
