Apple relents, allows cash for iPads (TUAW.com)
May 21st 2010 7:09PM What's not to understand. They are trying to make the most IPads available to the most people, at a reasonable price. Trying to avoid the same thing that goes on with let's say concert tickets. Where they get bought at reasonable prices in bulk, then if you want to see your fave band you get bilked. Same concept here. Apple is just trying to make sure people can by them without having to pay a marked up price, I personally applaud that.
Should Ladies Get More Toilets? Everyone Seems to Think 'Yes!' (Lemondrop)
May 19th 2010 6:47PM I was at a McDonalds in Paris where there was only one bathroom, with maybe 10 stalls, all closed off by doors that went to the floor. I must admit it was a little weird sharing the bathroom with women, but it would work great to solve the problem. If we could just get past our "issues".
Dennis Hopper Ordered to Pay $12K a Month to Wife (PopEater)
Apr 5th 2010 7:44PM Antone who thinks she is a gold digger should get their stories straight. They were married for fourteen years, she has/had stood by him through all his troubles with cancer. That is until his older daughter started influencing his mind against his wife, all while he was on drugs. He had a happy family until this older daughter decided daddy was gonna be gone soon and she didn't want to share.
Honda's Hydrogen-Powered FCX Clarity Coming to the US, and It's a Celeb-Magnet (Switched)
Jun 16th 2008 9:58PM I really wish some people (and companies it would seem) would stop dreaming about hydrogen cars. The tech is probably at least a decade away, more likely two. The cost for building the infrastructure necessary would be enormous. I don't think the cars would ever be affordable to the average person (i.e. 20-30k).
In my humble opinion the answer for our current situation is plug-in hybrids (PHEV) or all electric vehicles. With the improvements that have been made car manufacturers could start making them within the next two years. Even taking into account the electricity coming from coal plants they still are cleaner than todays model of cars. With most people recharging at night (off peak rates for even cheaper recharges) there would be no overtaxing of the power grid. The real beauty is that with more and more of our power coming from renewables every year, the cars would actually get cleaner as they got older.
