also, BMW sold a whole lot of bloated, over designed incoherent masses while he was at the helm of the design department.

no, he came across like a designer critiquing another designer.

Say what you want about Bangle, but BMW was very successful under his leadership, they also broke a lot of design barriers (rules?) while they were at it. If you don't see Bangle's influence in modern Hyundai's and Kia's then you are not looking very hard.

chrysler's average buyer is 62. If they can appeal to 20/30 year olds, they hope to sell to 30/40 year olds. this is no different from what buick has already begun to do. and if you remember, buick began with the lacross, followed by the regal and then the verano. Just like chrysler is planning.

also, what's the problem with augmenting the V6 with an electric motor? Lexus does essentially the same thing with their LS600h, which is a V8 designed to compete with V12 powered competitors through the use of an electric motor.

S toeems met that if nissan can compete with the big dogs using a turbo V6, honda could do the same with a V6 hybrid.

i hardly think that 4-5 pass coupe/sedan were in the cards when the s2000 was engineered, i doubt it can easily (economically) support that sort of a modification.

Acura's best bet is to use what it has (in production) and build smaller cars using Civic or TSX architecture. Now with the money they save using those platforms (which are already pretty high volume) they can throw in AWD for the top end models to really go toe-toe with Audi (who btw uses FWD architecture) and BMW.

to say that the integra and prelude were not properly laid out is ignorant. Integras and preludes were among the most highly acclaimed sports cars in their categories and had the capabilities to run with much more powerful and expensive cars.

times have changed, so has the taste of the american car buyer.

why do people always attack car makers for not properly predicting the future??

every product release is a gamble. whats that over-quoted song lyric? you gotta know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em?
