Sep 18th 2008 11:46AM I've made the swtich a few months ago.
There are certainly applications that I need to do my work, but I've fixed that with a quick run of VMWare Converter. I made a VMDK of my physical machine before switching, and I run my Windows only apps (Mainly the office suite, since my work uses Exchange), and I have a jumppoint servers that allow me to manage my farm from there.
Asides from that, I do everything else within Ubuntu.
As for the haters that miss their games, I still play games on a daily basis on my Dell D620 with no considerable loss of performance.

Mar 12th 2007 9:31PM Even with this, the only reason keeping at Fido is they are stuck providing me with the crazy "City Fido" plan in the montreal area that gets me unlimited in and outgoing local calls for peanuts.
I'd be long gone to Rogers with a Pearl + data plan if it wasnt for my plan.
now I'm stuck on another 3 years :(
ah well, I'll just get a good phone off ebay and ditch the L2 they gave me as a replacement.
