Bill Gates Leaving His Fortune to Charity, Not His Kids {Switched.com}
Jun 21st 2008 7:36PM Yeah, but what about the house? I mean it is something like 200 rooms. Does he make it a future home for the homeless, or do his kids get that along with perpetual maintenance, taxes and utilities. I mean, the monthly utility bill is likely 10 years on my income.
It's getting hot in here...Antarctic base gets 16,500 condoms {Green Daily}
Jun 16th 2008 1:36PM Their testing just how durable te condoms hold up for use in arctic climates. I don't think much fun either as men outnumber women more than 20 to 1. Most of the women are available over at the Russian Vladastok Station. I bet the purpose is mainly to keep Willie Warm though.

Jun 11th 2008 2:47AM Since I can't afford having my ashes launched into space, I have elected the next best thing. I will be cremated, my ashes loaded into 12 gauge shotgun shells and will be going as far vertically as possible in a 21 gun salute.
Fuel siphoning sucks! Protect yourself with a locking gas cap! {WalletPop}
Jun 6th 2008 12:00PM Practically everyone will have a tire change tool and screw driver in their vehicle. Only the hose is an intended option for gas theft.
I've known of very talented thieves. Knew a guy went into Safeway for groceries. Inside 20 minutes, thieves removed his engine from his Honda. He was suprised by the reason it wouldn't start. Anyone that fast could make a very good living honestly.
I feel that taking extra measures just points out fears and vulnerability to thieves and others.

Jun 6th 2008 11:50AM Mentioning leaving your car unlocked in NYC. If you o to Hawaii and rent a car, they tell you to leave the car unlocked with a window down for easy access by thieves. If you don't take the advice, they hold you responsible for the glass damage when the thief smashes the window. And that beyond the insurance coverage.
I drive an older vehicle but have the standard cosmetic cover over the cap. To prevent damage, were I in a likely spot, I would leave that open to prevent damage. Fact is cars have had an anti spoll device that prevents gas from leaking out in a roll over for more than 10 years. It makes siphoning very difficult. A thief has to insert one hose inside a larger hose to siphon. My advice, leave the thieves to traditional methods. You'll lose less gas. A guy here had his tank drilled out. (actually they shot it through with a pellet gun) He lost about 15 gallons on the ground the thieves didn't take. HAZMAT charged him more than $3500 for te cleanup. Believe me he would ave been better off leaving the keys in the ignition and letting them have the car.
Running out of gas is not a good way to save money {WalletPop}
Jun 6th 2008 11:24AM Very true. And when you run the tank to empty you stand a good chance of clogging your fuel filter, even destroy te fuel pump. Considering most have been placed in the gas tank for years, that can get expensive.

Jun 5th 2008 4:47PM I would skip the locking gas cap to keep thieves out. Better to have it easily removed than suffer the damage from a large screw driver, tire iron or other pry device that will leave hundresds of dollars of body damage. As stated thieves are now drilling a hole in tanks. They favor the new car plastic tanks so to avoid sparks. Those tanks cost better than $600 if you do the work yourself. As to te gas, what the thief doesn't steal leaks out on the ground. I suspect you may have a hazardous waste cleanup bill to pay. It's just better to lose $50 to $100 in gas, than acquire body or tank damage that will be several times that amount. And, by the way, if you drive an SUV or Pickup with dual tanks you are a favorite. High profile, dual tanks are so easy to obtain gas from. They just disconnect the hose at the tank selector switch. Not to mention a small Honda or such would have only about 12 gallons when full, when an SUV or pickup is a tank two to four times that size and more likely to be full.
I used locking gas caps in the past. But it was to keep kids from putting things in my tank after kids put rocks and newspaper in a neighbor's tank.
The Most Dangerous Addresses On the Web? {Switched.com}
Jun 5th 2008 4:28PM Actually, it is best not to give any credit/debit card, bank, telephone or even address to any on line sites other than the most reputable of businesses. It seems a standard they like distributing all given information to others and you will see your accounts sucked dry. Yeah! I got sucked in. To the tune of better than $300 by sites I hadn't even visited. Had to terminate the credit card to stop it. It will be a very cold day in a very hot place before any on line site gets any such information again.
Just add PBBILL.COM, THEGOLDSUPPORT.COM, FORNINPASS.COMm and PAY LVENT1.COM to your list of scam businesses on line. And as they bill you you will receive no warning of it until you check your bank or credit statement where you will find they have additionally sold, shared or made additional claims to your credit level. And beware too as this all began with a $1 credit card charge for 3 day trial, terminated within 24 hours.
