Whoopi and Sherri Shepherd Join 'The View' (Blackvoices Main)
Jul 30th 2007 10:33PM When in the heck is the world going to stop thinking about what color someone is. I'm NOT black, but I don't care if a performer or any other person is white, yellow, black or purple -- or their size or other attributes. It's the heart and integrity that should matter. Both of these women are entertaining and saavy. Get on with it and stop the pettiness...
Drew Carey Is Right for Price (The Cooler)
Jul 17th 2007 9:44PM My first thought was TONY DANZA. He was an excellent show host and very charismatic. My second choice would be O'Hurley. Whoever -- it should be someone who wants to commit the time over a period of years and not just "I'll take it for now" until something better is offered. There are too many bad game shows, and I think TPIR deserves a fantastic host with appeal across the board... GO TONY!
Who is Idol's 'crying girl' and where did she come from? (AOL TV)
Mar 22nd 2007 11:42PM Does anyone with any pull with the show ever read these comments? CHANGE THE VOTING!!!! PLEASE!!! Most of the time you can't get through to vote because of people using 15 phones and redial. On DWTS, they limit the number of calls to the number of contestants left, and decrease the number each week. THEN the judges' votes count for 50%. There's always going to be a popularity contest going on, but let's not stack the decks. GREASE has it down to making the ones who know make the final decisions, and I applaud that. AI, WAKE UP! Also, I agree Sanjaya has overstayed his welcome by a long shot.
New lineup for Dancing with the Stars announced (AOL TV)
Feb 22nd 2007 10:55PM I am excited to see Billy Ray Cyrus on this list. Whenever I remember him, I see him dancing to Achy Breakey Heart (with his mullet) and in the opener of "DOC" (in his cowboy hat and boots). I think he'll lend some wit also and it'll be interesting to see him in normal clothes. Can't wait for the show to start!
Ellen promises not to suck on Oscar night (AOL TV)
Feb 1st 2007 11:49PM I think Ellen is a perfect pick. One thing that I love about her is that she does not "trash up" her comments, keeps them funny and clean. Ever listen to her monologues - ingenious. And she loves her mom to death. There are so many hosts/comedians out there that think they have to make nasty or dirty comments to get a laugh. I do believe Ellen is following in the footsteps of the great "Johnny Carson" and wait in anticipation of watching the Oscars. (I tape her shows daily so I can watch later)
Does 'Idol' need to be such a "spectacle of cruelty?" (AOL TV)
Jan 19th 2007 9:34PM Okay... a few of the worst that are entertaining would be acceptable with me, but 16,000 people are put through probably a few rounds of eliminations before getting to the point where they see the "BIG 3" -- and no way should most of these wanna-be's ever make it that far. THEN, they let them sing sing sing when they should be stopped right away and sent packing. That's the cruel part, and playing it for their entertainment. If I were singing and had 3 celebs laughing away, I think I would stop and walk out to avoid further embarrassment. I loved that they included Jewel as another judge on Tuesday, and half expected that was the way it would go with the balance of the auditions to Hollywood. I actually don't remember even seeing all of the people who were put through, or very little of their auditions -- give us some more of that, too, or at least balance out the good with the bad. 'nuf said... I tape and fast forward, and that takes care of avoiding too much of a bad thing. I do love Simon's wit, and agree he's part of why the show is a success.
Dirt uncovered on 'Idol' hopeful (AOL TV)
Jan 19th 2007 8:59PM Seems like he'd fit in just right... with all the other celebrities who're being arrested for drunk driving, going into rehab time and again, partying 'til dawn with or without "unmentionables"; changing partners, etc. etc. Who among us has not done something in their past they are not proud of. Maybe he wants to "make us proud" like Taylor did. Now if someone turns up to be an actual "criminal" -- that would be different.
Desperate Housewife Marcia Cross is pregnant (AOL TV)
Sep 8th 2006 8:04PM I hope the writers read these sites. What a great idea to have Bree carry Gabrielle and Carlos baby. With Gaby wanting the perfect baby's mom and Bree fitting that to a "T", it could lead to a great story line way into the future -- i.e., Bree's meddling after giving up the baby, etc. DO IT, Yeah!!!
