Aug 30th 2007 1:42PM For those of you who feel the need to have that phone stuck in your ear 24/7, hire a caregiver for your dog, cat, kid, parents and/or grandparents. I am so sick of cell phones interrupting our every waking moment. Makes me wonder when some company is coming up with a cell phone you can stick up your nose while you are taking a shower! You wouldn's want to miss a call would you! What is this obsession with talking on that darn cell phone 24/7! Don't these people realize how rude and inconsiderate this is to others? How did we as a society survive as long as we have without a call phone?

Aug 28th 2007 12:51PM I am a 64 year old woman - never had childen but raised my step-mother's two children. I am a real estate broker and all too often see older people who are all but abandoned by their children. These older citizens gave up a lot to raise their kids, gave them the best homes, the best schools, the best cars, etc. I know of one lady here, age 90 plus, whose darling sons did not even visit her when she was in the hospital for almost two weeks. I know of another 84 year old man whose three sons only came around on their birthdays and Christmas to collect the envelope [gift] that contained several thousand dollars. When he had to have surgery, they were too busy to take him in for the procedure, so I took him. However, when he died, guess who showed up to fight over the estate.
I am glad I missed this wonderful "parenting" experience.

May 3rd 2007 10:07PM I disagree that you should never leave the house without makeup. I think makeup is for people who are not really comfortable in their own skin. The cosmetic industry has the female population convinced we all need makeup and more makeup and perhaps breast implants and what the heck, why not some botox and lip enhancement while we are at it. Some of the most beautiful women I know in their 50's and 60's wear nothing but moisturizer and lip gloss. When you are older, less is better. Your friends will still appreciate you without all that junk on your face.
