Jun 13th 2008 12:51AM There are so many wrong issues here.
1) The woman who got jail time deserved the year and more. I can't believe the audacity she had to forge another woman's name so that her son's girlfriend could have an invasive procedure done without her parents' knowledge. She was only trying to save her son from responsibility, not do what was right for his girlfriend.
2) The clinic was wrong in going forward with the procedure without the presence of the girl's mother. They completely broke the law and should pay criminally and civilly.
3) Young teens in this country obviously need more sex education regarding STDs, contraception, and yes, even abstinence. There is nothing wrong with you if you decide to wait until you're a certain age and in a committed relationship before engaging in certain sexual acts.
4) Adoption needs to be considered in every case before going forth with an abortion whether you feel it's a "woman's right" or the murder of a baby. I was adopted and I respect and am grateful for my birthmother's decision and love my parents as much as anyone can.

May 19th 2008 7:42PM Why is it that, except for a small percentage, the women on the CMAs are dressed in designer clothes that I can't begin to imagine the cost, while the guys look like they just mowed the lawn? Isn't there some middle of the road for country music awards?

At least England's girls look more natural like humans do. Notice how US women try to look like exaggerated cartoon characters? Their biggest goal in life is to make money by pleasing vapid men.

Women are scantily clad, chest popping with plastic (ever see one of those operations?) while men allowed to be fully clothed because taking it off would be beneath them. Thank you Playboy, the porno industry and all those who support them for setting women back, providing our daughters with low self-esteem and impossible standards, telling young boys this is all OK, and pandering to the uncivilized animal in us all that we've been trying to tame for thousands of years.
