Is it Time to Downgrade from Windows Vista? {Switched.com}
Sep 25th 2007 2:03PM Huh... imagine that.
After great frusteration several years ago, I uninstalled Windows 2000 back to Windows 98.
XP is great.
Why would I jump at the chance to be a guinea pig? No thanks.
World's Richest Man Donating One Million Laptops {Switched.com}
Aug 4th 2007 8:20AM Once again, I read an interesting story and a host of racist, ignorant off-topic responses. Are all USA citizens so completely ego-centric that this has to be become about "us"?. Maybe it is just the clientele of AOL.
This man has done a good thing. period.
The fact he is Mexican should have no bearing in the response. If the man were black, would we begin a conversation about aparthied? If he were a white American - we'd talk about the computers.
Little wonder more people than ever are moving to Canada.

Jun 16th 2006 6:29AM She's young and is learning the hard way. Baby horomones are racing, her husband was....not a good pick (of course she really thought he would treat her differently- she thought K was somehow special). Ouch. She's still a kid. I bet 2-3 years from now you'll see a different woman emerge.
Project #2: Fixing AOL Search (or "we need to love our users a little more" {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}
Jun 1st 2006 9:59AM Ive been an AOL member for 7 years. GREAT POST.
This last seven years has taken me from net newbie to web designer. Yeah, I am still with AOL, mainly because I am too lazy to change 7 years with of web/email associations.
To throw in my 2 cents...many AOL users have grown up, and don't need the training wheels. Sometimes the content is borderline insulting to read, assuming the user cannot do the simplest things without a wizard.
PSSST, you might want to bring out another version...without all the buzzers and bells and protections.
Make it light...focus on what your consumers want to do.
For instance, on dial up...the opening of the welcome screen page steals the curser focus from the search box until every one of the top stories have downloaded, about 10 exta second I wait for access to the net, or worse, fight the placement of my curser with your welcome screen.
You guys should know the 10 second rule!
