Oct 24th 2009 5:26PM I was a staunch Republican for years and years. Then during the last half of the Bush Administration when multitudes of illegal aliens were overrunning our town and nobody wanted to arrest vagrants nor deport illegals, I stopped supporting Republicans. It makes no sense to conduct a war to stop terrorists far away, while you allow (and actually reward) alien smugglers free access into our country, free services paid by the taxpayer. Our youth...their very lives are being harmed by fighting a war, being exposed to illegal aliens' smuggled narcotics, being harmed by out of control illegal alien gang members, and being led down the garden path by the man whose signature conscripts them to endless toil to pay of astounding national indebtedness.
Today I look to who is conservative (opposite meaning from the word wasteful)and that is whom I support.
It gets boring to hear about Democrats and Republicans. Each party seeks to clearly define the wrongs of the other, so they can raise funds by raising outrage. I oppose such tactics. I would prefer to have the ideologues state their opinions clear and true for all to know. Then we the voters may vote for the one we feels best represents our own ideology.
