ASUS Eee PC 1015, 1016 and 1018 to finally ship in August (Updated: some shipping now) (Engadget)
Jul 7th 2010 8:30AM @JohnHinOKC
Currently the 1218 is vaporware. It has not been acknowledged by Asus other than showing up on a design website as having received the Red Dot Design award for 2010. In order to qualify for that award, the 1218 was supposed to have been on the market by July 1st of this year, but obviously that didn't happen. The hardware is similar to the 1215, so I'd say it wouldn't come to the market until AT LEAST the end of the year when the 1215 comes out, but more likely it'll be next year some time (if it ever comes out at all). No word on biometrics or face recognition.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering about that. Not bad for the price, but I'll probably wait a little longer for the DDR3 capable units.

Jul 6th 2010 9:53AM Thee 1018 has already been on Best Buy for a week or two, has it not?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Eee+PC+Netbook+/+Intel%26%23174;+Atom%26%23153;+Processor+/+10.1%22+Display+/+1GB+Memory+/+250GB+Hard+Drive+-+Black+Aluminum/9966726.p?id=1218202948227&skuId=9966726&st=asus%201018&cp=1&lp=1
There are some inconsistencies with Best Buy's information though, such as "USB 2.0" and battery life that don't seem to match up to the specs for the 1018. Maybe Best Buy is confused.

Acer Aspire One 521 and 721 review (Engadget)
Jul 1st 2010 11:58AM Hey Engadget, are you going to review the Acer 1830T? From what I can tell it has a nearly identical frame to the 721 and 1551, but has an Intel CULV processor. It sounds very intriguing but I'm trying to determine if its worth the money. Plus I want to see if the battery is flush with the bottom of the case because I really hate those protruding batteries. Why have a "thin and light" laptop with an ugly tumor of a battery sticking out the bottom (or backside)!

Sep 3rd 2009 7:51AM I agree, Tebow would be horrible in the NBA, good thing he's going to the NFL instead.
