Mel Gibson's Ex Tired of Seeing Him Painted as 'Heartless, Abusive Monster' (PopEater)

Jul 18th 2010 10:59AM Though I do not condone abuse of any kind in a relationship, the media only reports what they can sensationalize to get ratings. Nobody except for the parties involved actually know what happened. All of the arm chair detectives, and judges should vest their time by doing something constructive rather than condemning someone without facts. That's what's wrong with this country, the media sensationalizes everything, and people buy into it without utilizing their brains! THINK PEOPLE! THINK!
I can't think of one person that has never lost their temper, or used poor judgement!

George Eads Signs on for More 'CSI' (AOL TV)

Jul 16th 2010 11:23AM What? If you don't like the acting so much, why watch it at all? Eads is not that bad of an actor. I will agree with you on CSI Miami - I've often wondered how they could realistically check out a crime scene in stilletos, or white outfits. My favorite show is NCIS....better acting, better story lines!

George Eads Signs on for More 'CSI' (AOL TV)

Jul 16th 2010 11:20AM Personally, I think Eads should have the same pay grade as the other actors. Fishburne came on the show in Season 9 - he will never replace Peterson. The show has not been as good since he left the show. All of the main characters, should be compensated similarly as they make the show what it is. Would like to see another crossover show this season.

Joy Behar: Mel Gibson Is Not Welcome on 'The View' (PopEater)

Jul 13th 2010 10:29PM Joannie,

One of the last shows that I watched, she was talking about getting married to Steve. I didn't watch it after that to find out for sure if she actually did or not. The actual point of what I posted still stands. Joy isn't a role model, and doesn't really have the right to judge Mel Gibson or anyone else for that matter.

Joy Behar: Mel Gibson Is Not Welcome on 'The View' (PopEater)

Jul 13th 2010 9:26PM So now The View is virtuous? What was the excuse when The View wouldn't let Sarah Palin during the campaign, but would allow Barry and his wife? (Double standard) Joy Behar and Barbara Walters aren't exactly role models - Barbara had an affair with a married black man and Joy Behar lived for years in sin with her now husband. I guess they don't like anyone that doesn't agree with their own beliefs. One sided reporting is the downfall of journalism. Maybe ABC will get a clue and cancel the show. Barbara should have retired years ago, and Behar is nothing more than a loud mouth has been. I don't condone what Mel Gibson has been accused of, but there is always 2 sides to every story and The View has lost any shred of credibility.

Stepfather of Slain Patrick Dennehy to Protest Hire of 'Devil' Dave Bliss (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)

May 14th 2010 8:52AM I think what some of you are missing is that the coach was banned from coaching until 2015. If that was part of an order, why is a Texas school hiring him to coach? Even if the coach didn't pull the trigger, he had information that was crucial to the case. You can be responsible for a crime even if you weren't the one holding the trigger. If the coach was banned from coaching, he shouldn't be coaching. Period. The coach apparently violated trust and the responsibility for Dennehy. Maybe the Coach can get a job flippin' burgers or washing cars. He shouldn't be in a position of authority at all.

Sandra Bullock: I Secretly Adopted a Son, Filed for Divorce (PopEater)

Apr 28th 2010 11:28AM Anyone else think that Jesse James statement "The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest." is a load of crap? Had he kept his johnson in his pants, and respected his wife, she wouldn't have filed for divorce. What's with him LETTING Her? He betrayed her trust and everything she stood for, there is no letting her about it. She had every right to file, adopt, and move forward. It's wonderful that Sandra is adopting a baby from the United States. Lord knows there are plenty of children that need a loving home HERE and who cares what color or heritage the baby is. He will be loved, and that's truly what matters!

Money College: One student's losing battle with private student loans (WalletPop)

Feb 26th 2010 5:58PM I have a small student loan that is through Sallie Mae. Like many Americans, I was laid off in 2007 and was unable to find full time employment. I have been on the government subsidized unemployment. I attempted to file an unemployment forbearance which would delay my payments (which Sallie Mae arbitrarily raised without notifying me). My request for this deferment kept being denied because they stated I had not provided enough information to verify my unemployment status. I began faxing (per their written instructions) the determination letters from my state in November 2009. This was a month before my previous Unemployment deferment was to conclude. I wanted to stay ahead of it because I knew that I was unable to find work in my area (unemployment is very high here).

I finally had to call Sallie Mae, by this point I had faxed the information to them 4 times. (at $2.00 per page, and a lot of stress!). To my dismay, the "customer service" for a U.S. financial aid/lender is outsourced to India.

The first person that I had to speak with didn't speak English. She kept telling me that my deferment was being denied because they had not received any of my faxes or letters. I told her once again I would resend them. A week later, my deferment was denied again.

I called again and spoke to another lady from India. She spoke better English, but her story was different. She said she had a record of all of my faxes and letters, but the problem was that they could only give me 3 months of a deferment and not 12 like I was asking for. Does anyone see a problem? I think telling someone the time frame needs to be adjusted is a lot different than not receiving the information.

After a few minutes of speaking to this woman, she informs me that really what the problem was had nothing to do with my faxes, or letters or even a time frame. The official unemployment determination letter from my state was not enough. My state went paperless, and the only information that is received is a print out of the determination for the 13 week unemployment, a debit card, and electronic payments.

What probably angered me the most is that the customer service people in India, are responsible for making a determination if I am able to receive a deferment or not. That isn't right. If our government wants to know why we have such high unemployment, they should take a look at how many government agencies are outsourcing their customer service overseas!

I requested to speak with a supervisor. He also was in India, was very nice, but he too said that my official state document was not good enough. I was appauled that an official document from my state that comes complete with a bar code and official seal was not enough to verify my unemployment status. That's not all. Sallie Mae had accepted the same type of determination letter 6 months prior.

The end result is that the supervisor told me that if I selected a different type of unemployment (there are 3 choices), that they wouldn't have to verify my status at all. I questioned that because if I selected the choice that he wanted me to, it was dishonest. The man assured me that it would be ok, so I selected it and the deferment was processed. I received a letter a week later telling me that I only have until April for the deferment even though I have jumped through all sorts of hoops for Sallie Mae.

If you have a choice not to use Sallie Mae, don't. You'll wind up paying more in interest than you ever take out in loans. It's like trying to work with a credit card company that doesn't have the best interest of their customers at heart.

The recession slammed 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' production, says Paul DiMeo (WalletPop)

Feb 23rd 2010 1:36AM Marcus,

Seems as though you're a person that sees the glass half empty rather than half full. Isn't it possible that the reason why "black" people are poorer is because they tend to sit around on their laurels waiting for somebody to bail them
out? The "white" population are used to being turned down
for jobs, loans, education, and other opportunities because
the status quo is to bail out the minorities. I get sick of people
pulling out the color card with the mentality that the world owes them a living. The show is a good one, and there has been a balance of ethnic families and non-ethnic families. This is one show were ABC has gone to extra lengths to find balance.

It is hard, and a shame that some of the home owners have trouble keeping up with taxes etc after the show is over. If the people could afford to maintain large, new homes, they wouldn't have needed to write to the show to begin with.

I'm glad to see some of the attributes of the show downsizing a bit. You can have a nicely done home without all of the extra expense.

Oh and Marcus...........hopefully, you'll take to heart that not everything is based on color or at least it shouldn't.

Wal-Mart pulling DVD displays from aisles (WalletPop)

Oct 5th 2009 6:17PM I felt the need to comment on this. I live in Arkansas, and I can say that our Walmarts have really gone down hill in the last 5 years. If Walmart wants to improve their image and get more people to shop there, then they really need to clean up their act by stocking their shelves with AMERICAN MADE quality products, have more than one brand of items instead of just their own items, and stop discontinuing items that people come to expect from Walmart. Walmart didn't turn the air conditioning on all summer long to save money. They didn't think about all of the people that were having heat stroke while wandering around their sparse isles looking at crappy made items that were imported from China, Pakistan, etc. Sam Walton is rolling over in his grave at the disgrace ... Walmart was founded on old fashioned values, AMERICAN MADE products. I'd rather shop online and have something delivered to my home than go to Walmart. You rarely see the parking lot full anymore, and the isles are wider apart now because they have less merchandise. They would be money ahead to carry better quality items (MADE IN AMERICA) than the fall apart knock offs from other countries.
