Countering Richard Dawkins on Al-Jazeera {News Bloggers}

Jul 26th 2008 11:40AM Well I have been reading about ww2 formost of my 41 years and I have to tell you that the Nazis had LOTS of reasons for what they did (wanting more territory, finding a convenient scapegoat for losing WW1 etc) and any reference to evolution was just convenience. They were ignorant racists!! They leaped on ANY justification for their hate!! Need I also remind you that they also used religion for this purpose too? (as in the familiar refrain that the Jews killed Jesus so we must kill Jews). Try to not be such an ignorant boob DD.

Bat-Bush: A New Hope for Conservatives {Political Machine Blog}

Jul 25th 2008 12:05PM At least BATMAN catches the criminals he is after!!! Here we are SEVEN YEARS after 9/11 and the leaders of Al Qaeda are still free. Batman also doesn't turn Gotham City into a piggy bank for his rich buddies to plunder while the rest of the population gets poorer

Who Let Uncle Jimmy Out? {News Bloggers}

Apr 25th 2008 9:02PM Frankly if we had more Presidents like Jimmy Carter America wouldn't be in the mess that it is today with 80% of the world hating us. He knew that no matter how convenient it is to have friendly dictators in key places (Nicaragua, Iran, Iraq, etc), it will come back to haunt you in the end. If we had been backing democracy and human rights from the beginning across the globe instead of bankrolling and installing monsters like the Shah then we wouldn't be having the backlash we are having now and it ain't over yet! Sooner or later the house of Saud will lose control and then a whole legion of pissed off Arabs will come at us.
Carter knows that our ONLY chance is to change our ways and TALK to these people and try to make up for what we have done (backed decades of oppression and murder, bombed them). Unless you are prepared to exterminate everyone all bombs do is breed more terrorists.
I wish to god we had a President who has half the vision Jimmy has. Instead we have a moron who like his dad, will hit the links and the speaking circuit (ok, maybe junior will skip the speaking part LOL) for the rest of his life.

Ben Stein Exposes Richard Dawkins {News Bloggers}

Apr 18th 2008 9:36PM JESUS CHRIST!!(LOL) Can u believe DD and these clowns can STILL be disseminating these tired arguments? Evolution is a scientific theory used to explain biology as we know it. Like any theory, it has gaps but the fact of the matter IS: THAT IT IS THE BEST EXPLANATION OUT THERE. Going with Intelligent design is like saying you are going to ride a pogo stick to work because the windshield wipers on your car are broken! Dawkins has already pointed out the sheer idiocy of the intelligent designer theory by noting that if there is one then it just raises the question of how that being came into existence (who was the ID's ID?) ad infinitum. It is very possible that science will one day discover (or recreate) the way that life started and human knowledge and quality of life will be enlarged. You religious NUTS think the answer to every question is in one book and leave it at that. Personally I enjoy the benefits of vaccines, microwave ovens, cel phones etc. that have come to fruition thanks to science since your ilk would still have us in the Dark Ages!

Polar bear Knut senselessly murders ten carp in front of zoo visitors {Gadling}

Apr 13th 2008 1:51PM By 1 pm this Sunday I have been responsible (as being the ultimate devourer of) for the deaths of two unfertilized chicken embryos, a cow, a pig, and some wheat. I throw myself on the mercy of the court.

Why Atheists are Not Very Bright {News Bloggers}

Oct 21st 2007 10:19PM Wow! So many problems with this one it is hard to know where to start. DD's 'dual reality premise os awful convenient but it is also very flawed. The whole nature of religion is postulated on the idea that a creature from the 'other' reality DOES interact with our world to create the world, part the Red Sea, answer prayers, and make miracles happen etc etc. These intrusions, if they really did occur would be observeable and recordable yet there is NO evidence to support them. I had a coworker that insisted that 'god' was responsible for a sum of money appearing in the nick of time in his bank account. The observeable reality was that he was an idiot who couldn't balance his checkbook, so he was bouncing checks and 'finding' money (that he had forgotten to record) all the time.
Frankly if you look at the atheist community you see a lot of very educated and well read people. If you look at the religious community you might find a handful but the overwhelming majority rely on their knowledge from just one book.
To answer another of DD's points, humans CAN observe things beyond the range of our senses. I can't see in the infrared spectrum, but I have used machines that can. I can't listen to radio waves but I have a box next to me that can receive them and translate them into a format palatable to my 'limited' senses. These are all because we use the one thing that has no boundaries--our mind which oddly enough in Christians seem to be the most limited sense of all.

Gigantic Bird's-Eye Billboards Target Air Travelers {Switched.com}

Sep 29th 2007 10:25PM This is pathetic. The advertising I see already is too much. We don't need any more. I am sick of the billboards, the commercials, the over-large labelling. If I want to buy something, I will seek it out. I don't need any help nor subtle mind control.

Richard Dawkins Responds - "What if you're wrong?" {News Bloggers}

Sep 20th 2007 8:10PM Religious people always seem to make the supposition that their god is a moral and fair and just god. I think this is pretty sketchy and based on my readings of the Bible, wildly optimistic. One of the reasons I became an atheist was that I refused to belong to a group or worship a god that had a moral code inferior to my own.

Remember, Remember the 11th of September {News Bloggers}

Sep 11th 2007 10:50PM Ya know, I didn't used to believe this shit till I started reading a bio of Andrew Jackson, our 7th president. This man would stoop to anything to achieve his ends--lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, murder--nothing would get in his way. He manufactured reasons to goad the Spanish into giving up FL, falsified reports to justify incursions into Mexico etc etc. If this could happen THEN in a supposedly 'pure' and simple age then it is all to believeable that the current scum in the White House could do it now. Same shit, different day.
