Mortgage Settlement Windfall May Be Diverted in Some States (AOL Real Estate)

May 17th 2012 11:55AM Anyone who didn't see this coming is probably shocked by other, unexpected events...like the sun coming up in the morning.

Most Controversial HOA Moves of the Year (AOL Real Estate)

Dec 24th 2011 11:50PM When I go house-hunting, I always tell the realtor, "No HOAs!" because I have several friends that have been the victims of the petty tyrants that ran their HOA or condo board.

FAA stops collecting airfare taxes -- and the airlines cash in (Gadling)

Jul 23rd 2011 3:47PM American Airlines is leading the charge to rip off the consumer...wow , I'm so amazed. (NOT!!!)

Expert: Roger Ebert's Own Ailments May Have Desensitized Him (PopEater)

Jun 21st 2011 11:45PM I'm with Roger on this one. According to police, Dunn was doing 130 at the time of the accident. Even if he was stone-cold sober, he's still a jack--s

Iranian aircraft crash caught on new video (Gadling)

Jun 4th 2011 12:35PM This story is so screwed up, I don't know where to start. They call it "an Iranian military aircraft" except that it was a commercial passenger plane owned by Caspian Airways. The footage is supposedly from 2009 but the US hasn't flown Phantoms since 1996...and we sure didn't fly them over Iran after 1979. Was the footage shot from an Iranian KC-130? Probably. However, the expletive a crewman yells when the Tu hits the ground is very much in English.

Video: Cyclist hit by car and lands on feet (Gadling)

May 27th 2011 12:36AM That's precisely what I'm saying...and the law agrees. Anyone entering an intersection whether pedestrian, cyclist or auto must yield to anyone already in the intersection.

Video: Cyclist hit by car and lands on feet (Gadling)

May 26th 2011 8:49PM I'd split the blame about 50/50.
The car appears to have blown the red light but we can't be sure because we can't see it.
The cyclist takes off the instant the WALK light goes green. The cyclist is guilty of the same infraction as the red Jeep - he entered the intersection without a clear path out of it. Leaving the crosswalk and weaving between stopped cars is NOT a clear path. At the very least, he should have stopped at the median and waited for traffic to clear.

Wendy's Fries vs. McDonald's Fries: Taste Test (Slashfood)

Apr 20th 2011 8:35PM Of the national chains, Wendy's WAS the best. Their new, skin-on, sea salt fries are just more of the same old fast food crud - no flavor, lousy texture. What a shame.
The best fries anywhere? Portillo's!

Peanut Allergy Protest a 'Misunderstanding,' Florida School District Says (ParentDish)

Mar 23rd 2011 5:41PM Apparently neither the district official, the writer or any of the commenters here have bothered to actually look at the ADA. The one word everybody is leaving out is 'REASONABLE' as in "...must make REASONABLE accomodation..." Turning the school upside-down and destroying the educational process of dozens of children for the benefit of one child is NOT reasonable.

Charlie Sheen: I'm Going to Haiti With Sean Penn (PopEater)

Mar 5th 2011 9:22AM Sean Penn AND Charlie Sheen? Good grief! Haven't the Haitians suffered enough disasters already?
