Would You Spend $80,000 on a Playhouse? (AOL Real Estate)

Oct 27th 2011 7:04PM I'm a college graduate, so I could never afford a real home. Maybe I should look into one of these.

Pippa Gaining Ground on Top Baby Name List in 2011 (ParentDish)

Jul 29th 2011 10:24PM That's a good theory, but I think it has more to do with the fact that my dog's name is Luna...or at least that's what I'd like to think (who was born in 2002, before the book with her in it even came out). =)

Pregnant Man Sheds Baby Weight, Shows Off New Bod (ParentDish)

Jul 28th 2011 11:31PM Actually, it makes "her" female, not a woman. Woman/man is a social term, female/male is a biological term. So technically, he is still a man, with female parts.

What Your Mess Says About You (and How to Change It) (Shelterpop)

Jul 8th 2011 3:42PM A mess confined just to a closet doesn't make someone a hoarder. A mess confined to the closets kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, hallways, patio, backyard, porch, basement, and guest room makes someone a hoarder.

Jun 29th 2011 3:11PM Honestly, I never wondered what a years worth of makeup looked like. Even after watching this, I still don't care.

Antipsychotics Have Dramatic Consequences in Kids, Study Shows (ParentDish)

Jun 22nd 2011 9:35AM I really wish this was known when I was in high-school, it would have saved a lot of frustratation -- medication is a slippery slope with kids. I started off on a low dose of Paxil for depression and anxiety when I was 15 -- a year later, it snowballed into so many different med's that I was MORE suicidal, MORE depressed, and MORE aggressive...before these meds, I was shy, laid-back, in the honors program, and into sports. They had me on Zyprexa, Risperdal, Klonpin, Paxil, Neurontin, and Seroquel all at the same time -- I ended up gaining 50lbs in a little over a month (50lbs!!!!!!!!). I was taken out of my high-school and placed in a day treatment for kids with behavioral problems -- I almost had to go into residential treatment. I developed a severe case of pneumonia that left me hospitalized for a month, I needed 2 lung surgeries to repair a collapsed lung, and nearly died. The symptoms of the pneumonia were missed because my frequent vomiting and general malease went unnoticed for several months with the doctors chalking it up to medication side effects. Once I was finally off the meds, I have never had an issue since -- and I will NEVER, EVER go back on anything EVER again. Now that I'm 28 and put myself through college and law school, I can look back and say those medications were never needed in the first place.

James Franco's ELLE Shoot: A Critical Response (Stylelist)

Jun 16th 2011 3:29PM Yeah, and not every baseball player will grow up to be Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle. Had this guy not been an actor with access to the models and equipment and produced these photos, I'd say, "Good for him, they're a great start." For someone who is already involved in the industry, I'd expect a bit more. I went to a top art school, I've seen some amazing photographers who were classmates of mine that produced photos far better than what Mr. Franco is producing...and they didn't have access to professional sets, professional models, professional editing, pr professional equipment.

James Franco's ELLE Shoot: A Critical Response (Stylelist)

Jun 16th 2011 11:33AM These are good for a writing major at an art school that took photography as an elective, but that's about it. You look at these photos compared to something done by, for example, Annie Leibovitz and you easily see that James Franco does NOT have a natural talent for photography.

Parents of Girl Killed in Ferris Wheel Accident Want Tougher Safety Regulations (ParentDish)

Jun 14th 2011 3:22PM People are so quick to jump on this poor girl for whatever reason it was that she fell from the ferris wheel. Are people forgetting how they acted at that age? Regardless if she stood up, was swinging the cage, etc. it was an accident, a grave mistake. If something as simple as putting a restraint on the ride will help, then do it. She’s not the first child to have fallen out of a ferris wheel, and she won’t be the last.

Lily Allen Weds, Groom Announces: She's Pregnant (PopEater)

Jun 13th 2011 12:17PM Parents should set the examples, not celebrities. If you're letting people you have only "met" via the television or radio raise your kids, you need to step back and check your parenting skills.
