Dec 18th 2009 4:45PM That is the stupidest idea. The longer the cord the higher the line resistance. This resistance can cause the cord to heat up and COULD cause a fire. Most manufacturers of electrical products do not recommend extension cords or elongating the supplied cord. If a fire marshall ever did an inspection you would be cited for this. Even Underwriters Labs (UL) frowns on this and every year you hear about Christmas trees cating fire because of overheated extension cords. STOP THIS NOW.

Sep 1st 2009 5:08PM I get calls like this 3-8 times a day. The funny thing is I have no debt. All of my bills are paid in full, my car is paid off (11 year old car that gets 28 mpg). These agencies buy BLOCKS of debt paper but most of the time to FILL the blocks there are accounts that are paid off but someone didn't notate it so they think you owe money. I hang up on them or if it is a live person and not a robotic dialer, I tell them that thier number has been traced and the law will be notified for harrassment. Telephone harrassment from someone in another state is a violation of state AND Federal laws. The Do Not Call Registry does not affect them so they think they can badger you any time they want.
