H2Offenders: Starbucks gets blasted for leaving tap running at all locations {Green Daily}

Oct 10th 2008 3:26PM I noticed a lot of "Doesn't water just go down the drain and get recycled?" questions. Here's the deal: water does get recycled, but there are a couple of issues. 1) water is used faster than it can be refreshed, hence the droughts in certain areas; 2) it's very environmentally un-friendly because a great deal of this water is piped to plants where it's treated to be placed back into the water supply which takes energy and resources for the movement of the water and the treatment.

So yes, water is renewable, but it's still best to conserve as much as possible if you're looking to be "green".

What Not to Wear to a Wedding and What to Wear Instead {Shopping Articles Blog}

Jun 13th 2008 2:37PM Yeah, not for nothing but this has got to be the worst wedding suggestion article ever.

Don't wear white - so we'll show you a white dress.
Don't show more cleavage than the bride - here's a dress described as having a "plunging" neckline.
Don't wear a hat - instead spend $45 on a headband.

Come on! I got married recently and I didn't spend any part of my happy day critiquing what anyone else wore to my wedding. I wanted the people, not the clothes.

Also, I have to say, all that bull about "it's the bride's day" has got to go. Ladies, remember - you're getting married, so someone else is involved as well. It's a day for the *both* of you, and the sooner brides get that the sooner we'll see more happy weddings and fewer 'bridezillas".

Court Shuts Down Whistleblower Site {Switched.com}

Feb 20th 2008 12:04PM "Freedom of speech" sometimes actually means "libel". There's no proof of anything these people have written or put up (plus it doesn't sound as though this is a solely US site, and our constitutional freedoms do not protect us against a foreign government) - if they want to be real whistleblowers and not just disgruntled employees they should contact the appropriate authorities, not post anonymously on a website.

Girls Just Want to Have Sun {TMZ}

Jan 4th 2008 11:05AM Seriously guys? So this woman who is 54 years old doesn't have raging skin cancer and is taking care of herself, so OF COURSE you guys have to jump all over her. Tanning leads to skin cancer, remember? I think she looks fairly healthy there - not bulimic skinny, no unhealthy burned skin. I'm pretty sure if we dragged one of your TMZ writers out of your flourescent cages you'd be "bulging with mucles" too and a bit pasty. Ugh - grow up guys.
