Which Beatle Are You? (Spinner)
Jan 9th 2011 2:39PM I am George Harrison - not a big surprise! He's always been my favorite, since I got to watch their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show at the age of almost-7! Might have something to do with my favorite email address too, one I've had since I got a computer in 1997 - it's luvgeorgeh at aol dot com! Personality evaluation was also spot on.....
10 Great Deals to Start Your Week (ParentDish)
Nov 1st 2010 3:02PM So - you expect to sit on your behind and make money with no customers coming in where you're supposed to WORK? How do you expect to make tips on empty tables? Consider it job security honey - or go find something else to do besides whine.....
Chiquita's Fernando Aguirre is First Latino 'Undercover Boss' (AOL Jobs)
Nov 1st 2010 2:48PM YES Georgia - he's legal and if he's qualified for the job, then he should have it - just like ANY OTHER AMERICAN CITIZEN. If you tried READING the whole article, without the prejudicial, closed-minded view you apparently carry around with you, you'd have seen the following -
"He earned a baseball scholarship at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and eventually went to work for Proctor & Gamble. Seven years ago he joined Chiquita. He is now a proud U.S. citizen and partial owner of the Cincinnati Reds."
How the Pill Liberated My Mother . . . and Me (Politics Daily)
May 15th 2010 9:34PM autumnmrn - I sure hope the last two letters of your screen name do NOT mean 'RN' as in Registered Nurse!... The Pill does NOT prevent pregnancy by preventing a fertilized egg from implanting. There IS no "fertilized egg" to begin with since the Pill DOES prevent the egg from being released by the ovary as happens in the normal, uninfluenced menstrual cycle. No egg - no fertilization. That normal cycle is interrupted by the hormonal influences of the Pill, which stops that process from occurring. Please get yourself educated before you start trying to hand out those kinds of statements.
Are You Combing Your Hair the Right Way? (Stylelist)
May 2nd 2010 4:24PM Could be lint from the towel you are using to dry your hair? Just a thought.........although lint comes from all those things you mentioned that "don't have lint" in them - check the dryer lint screen next time. If it's completely clean, then no, there's no lint in your linens. But my bet is that it's not - lint is a natural product of fabric no matter what kind it is. Some produce more than others, but they all have some.
The Beatles Story in Pictures and Words (Spinner)
Sep 9th 2009 11:14PM Somebody should have made that point to MY "DNA contributor" as well - what you just described is what I lived through myself. (Our kids however, were spared all such traumas.)
John's early life was no bed of roses either - and knowing something about it gives one a glimpse into why he may have turned out the way he did. He and Cynthia married quickly and quietly because she was expecting Julian - and her presence in his life was hidden from public view because of the Beatles growing popularity at the time, and the inadvisability of letting out the news that one of their group wasn't "available" to the fantasy world of worshipful teenyboppers.
Their relationship never had a chance to develop in any kind of normal fashion - she wanted much of what John could not give her, and his life was so taken up with the exploding popularity of the group and all the obligations that entailed at that time. Whatever Yoko's influence was over him apparently satisfied something he was looking for - and as is usually the case, the children are the ones to suffer the consequences. It's been going on since time began - it hasn't stopped yet, and looking around now, it doesn't seem to have done anything but gained popularity, with all the "babydaddies" and "babymamas" running around out there procreating with wild unchecked abandon........The Beatles were actually relatively tame compared to the current social climate.......
The Beatles Story in Pictures and Words (Spinner)
Sep 9th 2009 10:48PM The real dynamics of the relationships between John, Cynthia, Julian, Yoko and Sean are really only known by the parties intimately involved, in spite of what their public images might or might not have been. There are always three sides to every story like that - His side, Her side - and the truth. John is dead, and Yoko isn't telling. To judge any of them now based on what we think we know or don't know based on public images, hype and hearsay is lame, shallow and pointless. Enjoy the music and their musical legacy and stop pointing fingers at who did what to whom 30 or 40 years ago. Look at your hand the next time you point a finger at someone - you've got three pointed back at yourself.
Ukrainian Has Definitely 'Got Talent' (PopEater)
Aug 28th 2009 2:07PM Music isn't new either - but that does not diminish the amazing talents of each new performer that comes our way.
Perhaps the author of the article meant to imply that this particular story was told in a new way - not that the technique itself was new........
Divorce for Toni, Jail for Daryl (AOL Hot Searches)
Jun 25th 2009 6:49PM Southwest Airlines was rated the best out of all the airlines in the country in a study done by a university - I think it was in Michigan. They had higher scores by far than the second place (first loser) airline, and WAY higher than the one who lost. THAT is why they were on the search popularity list at #2, which it seems they are not any longer.
The Cottontails (Asylum)
Jun 17th 2009 4:04PM "A Christmas Story"!! "Go ahead and take it off, Ralphie - you'll only wear it when Aunt Clara visits........"
