Natalie Portman Engaged and Expecting With 'Black Swan' Partner (PopEater)
Dec 28th 2010 2:02PM It was that way when I was growing up, too, Pennie, and I'm probably younger than you ("pg" is a 50s term, I think, and I was born in the 60s...LOL). When I was in high school, those who got pregnant usually dropped out. It was not looked on favorably. But just because people glorify it now, that doesn't mean it still isn't shameful.
Brown-Bagging and Other Cutbacks Still the American Way (WalletPop)
Nov 29th 2010 2:14AM What economic recovery? I don't see any evidence of one.
Starbucks (SBUX) Will Raise Coffee Prices (BloggingStocks)
Sep 25th 2010 1:40PM I live in a college town, and we had a Starbucks that failed miserably within a couple of years of it opening if I remember right. Personally, I've never liked Starbucks coffee. I always thought you could drain the motor oil out of my truck and get the same result. I think Starbucks is more of a status symbol thing than a taste thing...it's what the yuppies are drinking, it's the thing to do, makes people look like they have disposable income, etc.
Police Investigating Seat Kicking Incident on Southwest Airlines (AOL Travel News)
Apr 12th 2010 2:09PM Obviously as a sane person, I don't condone what this woman did to someone else's child, or the fact that she was drunk on the plane (and throwing garbage was way over the top), but I have to admit that I wish parents could keep better control of their kids on board. The kicking and the screeching really does get irritating. Although I know that's not the point of this article, I still thought of it when I read it.
Nike, Tiger: Marriage of Slime, Scandal (Fanhouse Golf Blog)
Apr 8th 2010 11:14AM scarolina, I couldn't have said it better myself. We all know what he did was wrong (and he obviously knows it, too), but the proper response is 1) to pray for him and his family and 2) to realize that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God and that there are no "degrees of sin" in God's eyes. Take care, folks.
Feds cut executive pay at General Motors, Chrysler (Autoblog)
Mar 24th 2010 3:25PM Nope, just another victim of the recession. There are a lot more of us out there.
Feds cut executive pay at General Motors, Chrysler (Autoblog)
Mar 24th 2010 3:02PM I made less than $10K last year...and what are these people complaining about? Poor spoiled babies.
Michelle Obama Rejects Demonizing Twinkies In Her Anti-Obesity Crusade (Politics Daily)
Mar 18th 2010 2:27PM With people losing jobs and businesses, obesity won't be a problem much longer because no one will have any money for food. We'll all look like the starving children in Africa.
The Late Farrah Fawcett Left Out of Oscars 'In Memoriam' Tribute (PopEater)
Mar 8th 2010 12:15PM I think it'd probably be more appropriate to recognize Bea Arthur and Farrah Fawcett at the Emmys instead of the Oscars. Guess we'll see at the next Emmy Awards show.
Peer-to-peer loans: Writer explains what it's like to borrow from strangers (WalletPop)
Mar 5th 2010 12:19PM Is the loan interest cheaper than a mortgage or a second mortgage? The reason I ask is because even though my house is paid for, I thought about taking out a small loan against it to pay off the credit cards, but in this economy and the way home prices are dropping, that's probably not a smart move. So I was just curious as to whether the Lending Club's interest rate is at least as good or better.
