SmackDown: Should Teachers Be Allowed to Blog About Their Students? (ParentDish)
Feb 15th 2011 4:17PM I, as a retired teacher of 30+ years, always asked myself one question before the start of each day. That question was always 'who will benefit from my interactions with students TODAY?' If that answer was "the students" I proceeded. If that answer was "only me" then I reconsidered. Teachers, with few exceptions, have always been held up as positive role models for the community and the school. I would ask those of you that defend her, what kind of role model was this teacher with her blog?

Jan 12th 2011 2:05PM Easy solution..They should be banned from domestic flights in the U.S. for 1 year. Let them charter their own jets a few times and see the cost. It won't take long thill they will be begging to get back on or buy their jet. Either way the public will be rid of their antics.

Was Michigan Teacher Wrong to Eject Students for Anti-Gay Remarks? (ParentDish)
Nov 17th 2010 9:39PM Wow, I certainly have learned a lot from the article and the comments beneath it. I was always under the impression that the Confederate flag stood for the separation of some of the Southern states due, for the most part, to the wishes of those states to continue the practice of slavery. I did not know that the Confederate states entered into a civil war to deny the rights of homosexuals. I also did not know, as some have represented, that the Confederate flag stood for those who believe in Christianity. I guess that we can do away with the "other" Christian flag and be in agreement with some of the more enlightened posters.
We have, as a nation, become so politically correct that people feel they must must be punished for taking up controversial causes. Maybe we need to have orange wrist band day for those who wear glasses and are bullied. How about let's encourage those who live in Louisiana to wear a French flag belt buckle or those in New Mexico to wear the Mexican flag as a belt buckle.
Diversity and controversy were two the foundations of this country and we managed to get through it all to form the greatest nation in the history of the world. We got through it without labeling it "hate speech" and without personal litigation.
The Worst 'America's Got Talent' Finalists, Plus 5 Acts That Should've Made It (AOL TV)
Jul 13th 2010 8:05AM The problem with this year's AGT is that many of them have been mis-categorized. The bad magician should have been in the comedic section. He would have sent the other two packing. The Airpocalypse group should have been in the dance category and they would have been sent home, and there are others who were placed incorrectly.
How anyone can challenge the list that the writer says should NOT have been there. He is absolutely correct. I do not agree with the list of who should have made it. While I do think that Carlos should have replaced Hannibal Means, the routine of NW dance and acro was not coordinated enough to move on. If they are going to continue to select by a chinese menu style (one item from A and one from B, etc.)then there are several acts that are going to be burned.
Michael Grimm seems to be the only hope for a legitimate winner. Really, would you pay to see the Red Head sing Patsy Cline or the hand whistle do God Bless Americia? I'll stick with the Blackjack table.
Wild Ride (MyDaily)
Jun 14th 2010 7:57PM Obviously Kira, you need the remedial lessons about an automobile. On the modern automatic transmissions, there is a switch on the brake pedal that when depressed allows the transmission to move from park into any other position. It does not prevent you from changing from the drive gear to neutral. I routinely switch from drive to neutral to coast on a long downhill section of road. Depressing the brake would defeat the purpose of coasting. You, probably should get your facts straight before making an idiotic post.
AOL Mystery Flyer: American Airlines Report Card (AOL Travel News)
May 12th 2010 10:33PM Let's just back up a minute. Who determines the price of a ticket? Not the FAA but the airlines. Who determines which amenities are free and which are paid over and above the ticket price? Again it's the airlines. Let's just say that a family of four wishes to travel from the East Coast to Las Vegas and return. That's 5000 miles round trip but it's 6 days on the road of hard travel and 2 motel rooms each night for a total of 8 rooms. Total cost for this driving trip is about 1100.00. By the same token 4 round trip tickets are about 1100.00 and you are there in 4 hours. The profit is in the additional days spent at the vacation destination. If the airlines are undercharging, then it's their own fault. Certainly the extra days spent in Las Vegas are worth an additional 50.00 per person. Maybe then they can afford to give a meal and a drink for free.
'Andy Griffith Show' Actress Robbed in 'Mayberry' (PopEater)
Apr 30th 2010 11:53AM Actually, most of you are at least partially correct. Mount Airy, North Carolina is now her homeof Lynn. She actually went across the state line (only 3 miles) to Carroll County, Va to shop. The nearest larger town in that county is Hillsville, Va. The local newspaper in both Carroll County, Va and Mount Airy, NC carried the story. It was picked up by the NBC affiliate, WXII, in Winston-Salem, NC (approximately 40 miles due South of Mount Airy) and broadcast there. The local affiliates in the Triad area tend to broadcast news not only for their city but the surrounding areas. The article above was also partially correct.

Ad Rant: Dockers ads claim "soft" khakis will make men more manly (WalletPop)
Dec 9th 2009 7:09AM You folks have obviously missed the point. This is "Hate Speech" as alluded to by the presenter. This may even fall under the "Patriot Act" and the U.S. can put both the CEO of Dockers and the ad company in jail, indefinitely. Don't you dare buy a pair of Dockers or you could be next. Thanks Jami Bernard for saving us from a life of being afraid to drop the soap in the community shower, and one of hearing that steel door as it slams shut with the guard saying "it's midnight, lights out."
