Robin Givens Weighs in on Rihanna and Chris Brown (Blackvoices Main)

Mar 16th 2009 12:21AM I think I have had it with people, men and women, saying that somehow, this entire thing was Rihanna's fault. I do not condone violence from either party, but let's face it, men are bullies toward women because of their strength. It is so common these days to blame the victim. I don't care if Rihanna threw Chris' keys in the Pacific Ocean, HE HAD NO BUSINESS PUTTING HIS HANDS ON HER. From the police reports, it was stated that he beat the crap out of her in the car and slamming her head against the window and dashboard and choked her. What kind of love is that?!? Is he out of his mind? He's a punk for doing it and I WILL NEVER support anything that he does again until he stands up and grows up and PUBLICLY acknowledges his misdeed. I'm sick of Diddy, TI (who is a criminal himself anyway) and all the rest of the spineless men who are supporting him and saying that they need time to themselves. That's the problem! She should never be alone with him again. Why would he apologize to her and buy her diamonds and flowers and promise to "get help" if he did not know that he was wrong?!?!? He needs to stand up and be a man and publicly state that this was not Rihanna's fault. People are slamming her because they like him so much and blaming her for "provoking him." I'm sick of that and I'm sick of him. They both need some guidance. He'd better go to jail and be made an example of because SHE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO LET THAT CLOWN GO. I read Will and Jada's statement that was "cautious" and they didn't want to choose sides in the matter. WHY NOT?!??!?!?!?!?!? I can bet money if Will put his hands on Jada, there would be hell to pay! Or how about Tyrese....he hit his woman when she was pregnant, but guess what? He won't speak against Chris. You guys aren't doing Chris any favors by keeping your lips shut. Just imagine it being your daughter, or niece, your mother or your aunt or sister who had to get stitches because of some animal she was dating was having a bad day and decided to slap her around because she angered him? Whew!

Hot Seat: Obama and Public Financing (Politics Daily)

Jun 19th 2008 6:52PM This is nothing new. Barack Obama caters to those he is in front of. He Now distants himself from his church and friends of 20 plus years, only because he needs votes. He will do the same on other issues just as soon as he finds something else he needs the support of. Let's face it folks, we do not know this man well enough.

Tiger Explains Why He Will Break Your Neck for Snapping His Photo Mid-Backswing (Fanhouse Golf Blog)

Mar 28th 2008 10:02AM There is no excuse for Tiger cursing on camera for the world to see. He has a large following of children and it is very disrespectful for him to have such laced language. I understand that people get upset and a word or two may slip, but Tiger goes into this long expletive-laced tirade and he should be fined or lose a hole or something for doing it. It doesn't belong in a gentlemen's game and I am a huge fan of Tiger. His nasty language needs to stop or he be suspended until he can control himself.

Mar 28th 2008 8:34AM Happy Birthday, Ms. Franklin! I'd love to meet you one day!

Hot Seat: Obama Solve Rev. Wright Problem? (Politics Daily)

Mar 19th 2008 12:58PM Barack Obama needs to pull out of the race for the White House because he is a proven hypocrite. He denounces comments that appear to be controversial to his campaign, yet he does not separate himself from the people who made the offenses. Since Obama finally admitted that he heard these comments while sitting in the pews, do you think he stood up and clapped his hands like the other people in his church or was he one of the few who never rose to their feet? Rev. Wright embraced Obama like a son and Obama embraced him like a father, so why are we surprised that he would glaze over this with a speech. It wasn't enough and he needs to pull out of the race.

Obama's Pastor: Updated (Politics Daily)

Mar 14th 2008 2:32PM I honestly believe that if a person has been an attending member of a church for 20 years, they have embraced the teachings. Barack Obama and Rev. Wright are probably a lot closer than what is told by the Obama camp, but it isn't politically correct to say so. Unfortunately, there is so much spin that comes out of Obama's mouth, that you just don't know what is true. Let's be honest, Barack Obama is lying. He is lying out of his teeth and he knows it. For a Pastor to dedicate his ENTIRE MESSAGE uplifting Barack Obama and berating Hillay Clinton, speaks volumes. For Obama to say that this minister is like an old uncle who says things that you don't always agree with, is insulting to all of our intelligence. For once, stop the spinning and just tell the truth. You want to be President, then tell the truth...I'm sick of this. Oh, by the way, has anyone heard how Obama talks on the air when he is on Black Talk Radio? I'm an African-American and I see right through him. His whole tone is different, he laughs with the hosts about the Clintons and he is just a hypocrite. I am not voting for him and I know a lot of other African Americans who are changing their mind about him too.

Tavis Smiley Catches Hell for Barack Bashing (Blackvoices Main)

Feb 20th 2008 9:21AM To be honest, I think many Blacks want to have it both ways. I like Hillary Clinton and I like Barack Obama, but only one of them will win. If you are going to run for the most powerful job in the world, you need to have tough skin and grow up. It seems no one was stopping John Edwards and Obama when they were bashing the crap out of Hillary, so why is it when someone says the LEAST thing about him, they cry race or that he is being belittled. Grow up, Black America. Black people thrived because of some of the policies of Bill Clinton and some of the good life people in New York have felt as a result of the hard work of Senator Clinton. I am shocked that Roland Martin lashes out at people who do not jump on the Obama wagon. I am equally shocked that Oprah has done the same. If we want fairness in journalism and reporting, you should be able to take the bitter with the sweet. Stop spinning, lying, cheating, berating and just plain old, GROW UP. GROW UP, Roland Martin. GROW UP, Michael Baisden. Personally, a house divided by itself will not stand. The bottom line and at the end of the day, the evils of some of the people in the Republican Party will prevail becasue they will be unified by our divisions. I don't like everything EVERYONE does, but I will support the Democratic nominee, regardless of who it is. Before I knew anything about Obama, I loved Hillary. I have to vote with my conviction and not race as Roland Martin implies. I am not an Uncle Tom by voting my beliefs. If he is going to rake Tavis over the coals for that, he doesn't need to have the job he does. I don't agree with him. I live in Ohio and right now, Ohio is going to go for Hillary. Are you saying that we are all Uncle Toms because we are voting for what we believe is the right person for the job? Get real!

Wisconsin man's '91 Silverado set to hit 1 million miles (Autoblog)

Feb 4th 2008 8:34AM General Motors and/or the Chevrolet Division should give this gentleman a new Chevrolet of his choice and feature him on one of their commercials.

Archbishop Rips Rick Majerus for Support of Abortion Rights, Stem Cell Research (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)

Jan 23rd 2008 10:01AM The Catholic Church has no right to criticize anyone until they clean out all of the pedophiles that are practicing as priests. It is hypocritical on this Arch-Bishop's public statements if he is not going to do make the same "public" stand against the priests.

Catholic League Accuses ESPN's Dana Jacobson of Saying 'F--- Jesus' (Fanhouse Backporch)

Jan 23rd 2008 9:27AM I love Jesus and I don't like it when He is disrespected, however our country is too controling of people. The lady issued and apology and the subject should be closed. I have heard much worse on TV and radio. We are not going to like everything everyone says, but so what...get over it. I don't like a lot of the things I see or hear, but I don't want that person to lose their job just because I don't agree with what they said. Grow up!
