A Baker's Dozen Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Mac (Switched)
May 12th 2011 10:38PM For iPhoto as with iTunes you can move your databases onto another hard drive and pressing the "option" key when starting up those applications, you will be able to find and choose these moved "large" databases and use from those remote locations. AND by moving those off your main drive, you save yourself a lot of headaches when the OS gets wonky or dies (and it will) and you have to reformat or reinstall on that drive. These very precious databases will not be there and they'll and you'll be "safe".

Aid Worker in Haiti Racks up $35,000 Phone Bill With T-Mobile (Switched)
Oct 16th 2010 10:28PM TMobile knew exactly what they were doing and probably hoped that this would happen. All big business, especially the telcos, jump at profiting on disaster. I'm not surprised at all. Hopefully they will get theirs with this new legislation.

Poll: How much did you spend on your HDTV? (Engadget HD)
Jul 11th 2010 7:54PM I paid $800 for my 50" Samsung 3D Ready DLP back in Sept of 2008 that has been the best of the 15 sets we have from various manufactures. My next purchase will be a Mitsubishi LaserVue. Which may be any day now.
After the DLP, I don't care for LCD's. And 3D is an unproven gimmick. It needs a lot more time on the bench. it has been rushed to market way too fast and untried. All this gear that is being let out now will be replaced by a ratification that will make it all obsolete. I'll wait thank you. And wait for the media, that has yet to really hit the streets.
Poll: Are you going to get / already set up with a multiroom DVR? (Engadget HD)
Jul 11th 2010 7:34PM I have had a great multi-room/location solution in place since 1995 that supports DVD, Blu-ray, VHS, Satellite, OTA, Security Cameras, Media Room Feed simultaneously at all locations on the property. This is nothing new for us. Now looking to take a step further with Rosie and the iPad.

Since DISH Network has become more of a pain than a pleasure. I am having to download more and more programming because DISH can't seem to get it to me as they should. I have been with them since 1994 and will leave in a second if I could get all my online ducks in a row and schedules to DL instead of watch as per a time driven schedule. Plus PQ is better via DL and cheaper since all of DISH's new and forthcoming nickel and dimeing fees that are popping up all over.
I'm ready now to do 100% DL now.
