Alex Ovechkin Tosses Stick, Tagged With Penalty Shot in All-Star Game (Fanhouse NHL Blog)
Jan 31st 2011 8:51AM Cmon now.. it was the All-Star game.. the guys played it light heartedly and looked they were having fun with it all. I laughed when I saw him do this. I no way was done to be mean spirited. Fun game to watch!... Now back to our regular schedule ....
Are airline passengers getting ruder? Deal with it! (Gadling)
Sep 9th 2010 11:18AM Augie, you are so right! :) I would love to take vacation but can't bring myself to fly and deal with the BS! I remember flying alone as an early teen and it has changed so much. The general public is treated like cattle no matter where go... all for the sake of the all mighty dollar!

Sep 9th 2010 10:39AM Of course people need to be 'attended to'!! They can't be trusted to follow rules that are put in place for everyone... including them! Everywhere you go, not just planes and airports, you always find a handful of people who think the rules don't apply! On planes, they'd smoke in the bathrooms, use cell phones during take off and landing, bring all kinds of things on to the plane, and just generally not care to be considerate at all to their fellow flier! You're assumption is naive..

Sep 9th 2010 9:54AM It's a shame really. I try to conduct myself with the notion of 'do unto others...' but there are times where it's hard to when frustration sets in. I will admit that I am one short on patience some times especially when stressed out. I haven't flown but once or twice on an airline since all the 9/11 security changes started simply because I find it all so very daunting, even tho I realize it's for everyone's own good. But following the rules to show up on time and what you can and can't carry on makes everyone's experience much easier to deal with. With all the baggage/service fees now tacked on tho, who the heck can afford to???
It is sad that people can't be cordial to one another in the customer service realm during our few moments of interaction. However, there are times where every one of us have all come across that inept employee (or customer) that gets on your one good nerve because of communication issues or lack of necessary knowledge. I find sometimes that if you call back or talk to someone else, you'll get better results. Someone posted earlier about companies not investing in their employees anymore to give them better skills/knowledge to do their jobs... I have been saying this for a long time now! Yes, it does come back to the company's bottom line... training employees properly costs too much money. I try to remember that we all have to deal with the same issues and stress these days so getting irate with someone isn't necessarily the answer regardless whether it makes one feel better or justified at that moment. We, as a society, will only get worse unless we stop and take the time to stop the nonsense and change things for the better.
When 'Hoarders' Don't Want Help (VIDEO) (AOL TV)
Sep 7th 2010 8:54AM I worry my sister will one day become like this. She has always been a pack rat from the time we were kids. Rarely throws anything out for the sake of memories or possibly needing it later. When she was married, her husband kept her junk stored in the attic. Now that she's divorced, her condo is a mess. Junk everywhere piled on top of the dining furniture, in every empty corner, and then some. We joke with her about cleaning up and out, even offer to help, but but she just mumbles that she doesn't have time to do any of it. Nor does she make time. One Easter weekend, a year or so after she moved in, I cleaned up my nephew's bedroom because she just kept cramming more crap in his room and shut the door. She wouldn't let me throw anything out so I shoved it all in the closet to afford the poor kid some space to play in his room! Earlier this year she broke up with her boyfriend and apparently he had her collect her stuff that was in his storage space. It's all over the condo now piled high! I really worry that if she doesn't get it in her head that she doesn't need 75% of the junk she's holding onto, then maybe she could live in a nice home. It bothers me to visit her because while I know I need to do much overlooked spring cleaning, my place is spic and span compared to hers! It's sad really.. but like someone else mentioned.. you can help anyone that doesn't want to help themselves.

Ex-Beauty Editor Secrets -- The All-Time Best Drugstore Makeup (Lemondrop)
Aug 15th 2010 10:18AM Interesting tips.. but i always assume Wet-n-Wild and the like are exactly like their price.. cheap. I've tried several dif products from the cheaper lines and they just don't go on as well or stay on for long. I've always used Revlon and Max Factor products but now with Max Factor pulling out of the US market.. I'm at a bit of a loss. I love the MF Pan-Stick concealer but need to find a replacement. I tried Bare Essentuals mineral face powder and love it. Just changing that one regimen alone has cleared up my skin considerably! Recently, when I went back to Sephora for more, the consultant referred me to 'their' concealer.. it works well but compared to MF size and price.. I think i'll keep looking! It's a shame that so many products don't work like they should or even claim to!!
